Looking at the replay, rohan hurts his knee in flight by a knock, not on landing.

Would be funny if he was ok to play after being stretchered off. Funny embarassing

No it wouldn't. Everyone could see how much pain he was in.

Sinclair played the week after the Brisbane match at which the medicos called for the stretcher (although in the end Sinclair was half carried/hobbled off). He too was in considerable pain at the time (so much so the medicos thought he might have done his ACL).

With respect barry. As someone who has had 2 ACL recons, a comminuted, compound fractured tibia, and a 3rd torn ACL, I can assure you there is nothing remotely funny or embarrassing about being stretchered off, even if he does play next week. The initial injury may have been innocuous, however, the pain can be severe. The fact that he has previously suffered horrendous injuries, adds a apprehensive psychological element.

As someone who has spent over a decade and a half treating orthopaedic injuries, I can assure you that there are many instances of seemingly innocuous injuries that result in significant trauma.

I for one will give Gary's reaction to his injury respect, and hope, for Gary & the club, that it isn't severe. Given his history with injury, his determination & general recovery from adversity on multiple occasions, not to mention the total commitment he gives to his club with often scant regard to his own physical wellbeing, Gary has well and truly earned that from me.

Absolutely - I thought they were both great in their own way. Just need to work on them becoming more of a presence around the ground in terms of marking and hopefully kicking goals. Nankervis continues to grow on me - I hope we manage to find a way to hang on to him. He is an old fashioned ruckman but with a bit more (that left foot kick to set up Buddy, in the famous words of Cyril's love was 'delicious!')

There is nothing amusing or funny about injuries like that - I completely agree gs. I hope for Gary's sake it is a lot better than it looked at the time.

Maybe Barry just meant ironic , not funny embarrassing. I'm not insinuating Barry hasn't got a dictionary or thesaurus.

If he does that would be amazing and mean no need to consider Towers as a replacement. After his inept performance in the Neafl GF he doesn't deserve it. If Gary doesn't get up please consider Rose instead as he's not as high risk.

So good! I feared the worst, it had the makings of an ACL. Great news!

To be fair to Barry, considering some of the negative reactions the above post received, I think it is pretty obvious he thought that after being stretchered off, it would be funny if Gary played next week. I don't think he once implied it was funny that Gary got injured and I thought that fact was pretty obvious. Rohan may well play next week, and that would make the stretchering off pretty funny and a bit embarrassing, don't you think.

So Barry has a beard, wears dress shoes with no socks, drinks de constructed coffees and lives in Newtown? No wonder he is annoying.

Not funny in any sense. The pain was appallingly obvious.

And terrific if he's there for next Saturday. It seems to me that he worries Geelong even before he runs out onto the ground.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
