That's it. I'm giving up Australian Football.

    Yeah, I saw that yesterday.
Redemption of sorts for being 'that supporter' who blames the umpiring.

One thing - if the AFL admit to 4 incorrect decisions, how many does that mean there actually were? *? 12?
There must be some measure of how what the AFL admits to is exponentially related to what actually happened...
The difference between insanity and genius is measured only in success.

A couple of weeks later, and I understand how the OP feels. I'll stay a Swans member and continue going to games, but not sure if I will be giving any money to the AFL again.

I have a feeling we have missed our shot at a flag in the "buddy" era. Thats the most disappointing thing. Its not just one lost grand final. Its a loss when we are at our peak powers and may not get another shot for a while.

The COLA removal is starting to bite, and we seem to be losing a lot of the 23 year olds. ie the next generation. We have strong 27 year olds (or there abouts), promising 20 year olds. But week transition between the two.

I think we are still very much in contention for 2017. So much rides on luck (injuries, umpires) and there is very little between
the top three or four teams. The upside is there is improvement in all of this years first year players and a fit Reid, Tippo & an
unhampered Buddy. GWS will likely be flag favourites but even for them to win a bunch of things will have to go their way.
The footy season is ridiculously long (too long IMO) and to get into the prelims and GF you need a bunch of guys that can get up week-in,
week-out and grind it out. Over the last few years we have proven by our results that we do have guys that do have the
mental state to be able to do that.

You do know that Buddy isn't half way through his contract yet, don't you?
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

If you said at the beginning of the year (after losing Goodes, Shaw, Pyke, Jetta and Bird) that we would finish on top of the ladder and make a GF, most people would think you were nuts! Some pundits didn't even think we'd make the 8!. Aliir, Mills, Naismith, Hewett and Papley were all surprises this year and I think Newman, Foote, Dawson and Rose will make inroads next year. So we are not bottoming out and have every chance to go that one step further next year.

I don't feel as gutted this year as 2014 because I always thought the kids would tire - it's sad it was in the last game of the year.

But I still feel the AFL manipulated the result through the umpiring. So I renewed my membership today but cancelled my Premiership Club. I don't want to go another Grand Final - I'll happily watch it at home from now on. The Swans' staff member said he'd heard the umpiring lament quite a lot recently.

Mate, aren't you the bloke who picked up the T-Shirts that time. Five thousand posts on RWO. And you're cancelling your PC membership?
You can't do it. These last couple GF's are just minor mix-ups on our road to greater glories. You have to be there man.

                    You're gunna regret that!!
                    Don't be silly.
We just don't win grannies in years that end with the number six.

I'm upping my redback membership and full adult membership to a redback "couple". That way I can take a freeloader to functions with me.

See GS, this is the spirit. Buying extra memberships, not lesser ones. Besides, you always need an extra seat so you can stretch out, or
have somewhere to rest your pie for awhile when it's too hot to eat. How can the players be expected to risk life and limb running back into
a pack when their supporters are not 100% committed.
