Ludwig's hopes of recruiting Tony Olango dashed for the time being. Taken the pick before our second round pick by West Coast.

I like the Armartey pick. He's very raw, but has great athleticism for someone his size and is a very strong mark. I was thinking he would be a good pick. He's a bit of a long shot, like Tony Olango.

I don't know anything about Styles, but apparently is a good kick on both sides.

It's been a bit of a ho hum, wait and see draft.

Styles reminds me a little of Jake Lloyd. I look forward to hearing what KB has to say about the recruits. Hooray for AJ!!! That's a feel-good story and obviously means we hold out hope of him making it back to the level!

Anyone else worried that we didn't draft a KPD? man i hope Aliir got a new alarm clock..

Styles looks like the best kick out of the lot we drafted wonder what the knock on him is.

Could be a crowded NEAFL forward line next season, with McCartin, Pink, Armatey, Cameron and one (at least) of Sinclair/Tippett trying to find some space. Mind you, it's a tactic that worked well for the Lions this year. Each time they beat us it was with their height.

I guess McCartin will only be a part-timer if he stays down in Geelong to finish school. And hopefully they'll trial Pink in defence, to replace the departed Talia (who, I note, hasn't been picked up by another club). I don't think Pink has much chance of becoming a senior AFL forward but I'd love to see what he can do at the other end of the ground. His athleticism and speed will be useful, and I reckon his disciplined, rather than pro-active, approach may well be better used as a defender.

I held my breath for a few moments before the final Swans pick was posted. It would have been weird not to give AJ one last crack, after sticking with him all this time, but I was anxious for a while.

The highlight reel up on the Swans website is none too encouraging... (I wonder if they'll realise and fix it. You think they might have checked before loading it up.)
Maybe they didn't want to upset QBE by showing what we're producing in the academy these days. The video is okay as it is. He looks quick, but just goes round in circles a bit much.

I think Pink has a better chance as a defender than a forward (as I've noted in some past posts). He played some defence in the U18s which you can see if find the old Youtube highlight video. He looked pretty good. With Talia gone and Aliir likely to play seniors, there should be a slot for him in defence alongside AJ and Maibaum. As you say, we have plenty of forward options if those forward/ruckmen can stay off the injury list.

My Jake Brown video. Just watch the circles go round and round. It's psychedelic:

It's interesting to note that the final mark on the Joel Armatey video was taken on the siren. He had that easy set shot for the game winner, but missed.

Happy for AJ to be given a final chance. Got my fingers crossed. Not overly excited by the others selected. We often pick up a player or two who were realistic chances of being selected in the national draft but not this year.

I still think McCartin may we'll end up as a kpd rather than the forward he has played up until now. As I said before his highlight reel reminded me of jeremy McGovern

Wouldn't be surprised to see pink and McCartin roatate through defence in the neafl
