      How many of the Bulldogs handballs are actually handballs? Weren't the AFL supposed to be cracking down on that, this year?

        Forward pressure a huge improvement on last week. 13 already in the half, 7 in total for the whole game last week. But with one down in rotations might be hard to maintain in the second half

        Hewett stepping up getting good minutes in the middle. Hanners and Parker and Jack not fully fit. Florent Hayward Newman Fox all contributed in their own way that quarter rewarding the coaches for their brave choice

        Aliir took a while to adjust to the pace, he'll get better as the game progresses. Can't say the same about Marsh who isn't very good in tight situations. Naismith too needs to compete better in the ruck.

          Which is exactly what Longmire said several times in the last couple of weeks. In the end selectors had no choice.

            What tonight is showing is just how ridiculous the umpiring was in the grand final.

            I think we are getting slightly the rough end of the stick, but the free kick count is 16 to 10. We had more free kicks in a half of footy tonight than the entire grand final - yet its almost an identical game to that grand final in a lot of ways. It is quite absurd that we went more than 2 quarters without getting 1 single free kick in the GF.

            Really good effort tonight, although we are just lacking a bit of polish where it is needed. Loving what the new guys are showing - Florent in particular has done some lovely stuff (Awesome tackle and goal!), Fox works hard, Newman is a nice kick of the ball and Hayward is showing some promise.

            Just keep having a red hot go, and I'll be happy, even if we get beat by the fairypuppies tonight.

            Haha deja you have to be kidding - its going to become a plague on the game, this trend for 'basketball passes' we are seeing.

              As much as the abysmal umpiring has distracted from the game, I've been very impressed with some of our youngsters. Newman is 2nd in the rankings behind Reid and I don't even think I've seen him. He must look like to many other players. Florent and Haywood have given us that leg speed that we so desperately need. That chase down from Florent in our 50 in the 2nd qtr was fantastic. Jack has been terrible. Jones has been great also. It's about time we had a player with some c$&@ in them.

                Newman and Hewett have been sensational. Hanneberry, Parker and Jack look really rusty

                  Our new guys have been really great. Easy to see why I wanted Newman in the side. Hewett playing in middle is stepping up.
                  It's a shame about Tippett going down, again. Could be the difference in this game. Anyway, looks like Cameron will get his chance.

                  The presence is not looking great, but the future is.

                    1st half observations:
                    - Hope Reid keeps injury free;
                    - Tippett - a write-off;
                    - How good is Kennedy;
                    - Florent is an exciting prospect;
                    - K.Jack - ??????

                        Have you seen how often his jumper gets pulled and the umpscum just ignore it? He must go through a jumper every game.

                        This brave Bulldogs love fest by the umpires, AFL and channel 7 is simply ridiculous.

                          Umpiring is @@@@house

                          Great team effort - Tippett going down looks to have hurt a lot, but win lose or draw from here will get our season on track
