K.Jack is not giving enough. What is going on with him?

Hewitt is looking good, but needs to build himself into a 4 quarter, 35 plus possession machine. You want the ball in his possession.

Mills is worrying me. He sometimes looks like he is not at 100% pace when he chases.
He was far better than the alternative.

They invite the umpires to their pre season fan day & probably pay them too

This is the video the AFL put out at the beginning of the season which explains (with examples) the tighter interpretation of deliberately rushed behinds which is being applied this season.

This was a fair free kick. Picture this on any other part of the ground.:
Boundary line: deliberate out of bounds.
Centre square: mills would have plenty of time to gather and get a kick away.

I'm padding up for respect and decency. No Swans player deserves to be sworn at by their own members in public or on online forums.

The Cunningham / Bont incident also exposed a distinct lack of understanding on your part. Going back with the flight, if Cunningham had turned his head and looked for Bont's position, the umpire would have given a free kick to Bont in the square.

You can have emotions, but you have a split second to think about what you are posting.

Centre square? Well, I suspect that Picken would have tried to get the ball or tried to lay a tackle. In the manner that players have been doing for the last 150 years or so.
Though I actually think the rule is a good rule and will make for a few more exciting goal mouth scrambles. It's just that I don't think a player should be rewarded with a goal, for not making an effort.
And I also think that it will take a while for the umpires, players and coaches, to work out a more consistent application of the rule. Like, in one of the games last night, there was a case where a forward tried to grubber a goal from the pocket. Instead of bouncing towards the goal, it bounced into the arms of an unmarked, retreating defender, who ran over the goal line, with ball in hand and without making the slightest attempt to change course. No free kick and no suggestions from the commentators that it should be?

So, let me get this straight? You're choosing to be offended, by the sight of a string of @ symbols, displayed on a football discussion site??
The 21st century must be a real challenge for you.

Quite possibly, but I bet I could find 30 examples of the same thing this year where it hasn't been paid.

The Dogs players reminded me of naughty toddlers, testing their boundaries, until that glorious moment when they realise they can grab, push, hold as much as they like with total impunity. There were two teams playing under totally different sets of rules.

Personally, I turned the game off after the Allir free kick for touching Cloke, which followed 3 blatant non free kicks to the Swans. I don't need to subject myself to that crap. There will of course be no repercussions, but a little bit of my love for the game disappeared.

Well done to the youngsters for having a crack.

The only way we can decide about Harry is to compare him to only other list player similar. (Not Dawson)

                      Cunningham v Towers

Both fast, good kicking for goal, Harry very good field kicking, Deano very good leading foward/winger above his head. Neither tackle much (one on one, not pack tackle when everyone is stationery) Deano has no idea when he has the ball and Harry avoids contact or corrals players.

                      Quick poll.

Towers for me. At least he tries hard at the contest, Harry plays like Boomer without footy smarts.

I agree with you completely. As a swans supporter I am disillusioned and tired of other teams getting away with things when we play them, I can only imagine how the players feel. It has always been bad but has got worse since we took Buddy off the AFL's team and Buddy can't buy a free kick. There was a similar rushed behind in the Hawks game, no penalty. I agree with Longmire swans must be doing something different cos they get penalised when other teams don't, I loved his remarks. Incidentally on ABC radio it was suggested that it is only a matter of time before a player as in Mills picks up the ball, handballs it to opposition player in goal square and then proceeds to tackle. No rushed behind and kick given to Mills. This would work with other teams but you can bet if it was the swans the umpire would deem the tackle in the back or something else just to make sure opposition player gets a shot on goal.
Funny the outrage on the free kicks WC got against St Kilda and one news report even says umpiring is deciding the game yet none of this for swans in GF or Friday's game.

The Swans ARE doing something different, they're wearing a red and white guernsey, not a red, white and blue guernsey. I doubt that it's a full blown conspiracy, but there is definitely some (perhaps unconscious) bias here. The combined 51-26 free kick differential from the GF and Friday's game clearly illustrates this. Horse needs to have a private chat with the umpires to try and sort it out.

Seems that any chats with the AFL or umpires from the swans is a waste of time, I am glad he had a dig in his after match interview. There is definitely bias towards dogs and hawks in their heyday and swans get penalised.

I'm not wagering into your little spat. But this point is valid Joel. It's not like when someone launches in to a "heat of the moment", verbal tirade & the vitriolic words spew forth & can't be taken back.

When you type, you have time to consider what your saying. You even have to take the time to press submit. All conscious decisions that you could sit back & say, "is this what a piolite, rational socially respectful human would do?"

Actually, if you've typed a regrettable post, you have 10 minutes to delete it.

Heat of the moment is a poor excuse for unsavoury posting.

As for abusing the players of the team you support, think about if you made a mistake at work, and then someone jumped on social media abused & berated you for it, all from the secure anonymity of the internet. How would you feel? If the @@@@ abuser is so macho that they say they wouldn't care (as so many keyboard worriors are) what if it was your child, spouse or sibling?

& just because it's the social norm, doesn't make it polite or right. It's not comparable or analogous but that's how all the casual racism that ruined Goodsey's last season started. A bunch of sheep saying stupid things & it snowballing because no one stopped to say this shouldn't be acceptable.
