Means are a bit misleading sometimes. (A lot of the time.)

The mean is influenced by the eight or so very senior players with loads of experience. But the difference between having 150 games of experience or 130 games of experience matters a lot less than the difference between having 1 or 2 games of experience and 20 games of experience. It's less even than the difference between 1 or 2 games and 10 games. Have we ever field a team before (or recently) that had 9 players with 15 or fewer games of experience? Or that had 13 players with fewer than 50?

I have a 7 year old who plays Auskick and wants to play for the Swans. I tell him you have to work hard on your skills and get into the academy.

Is it good for a young player to look up to a certain AFL player because you can see that your son has certain attributes? My guy has blond hair, is quick, bounces the ball at full pace and gets the play moving. He will not grow to key position size and does not look like an extractor. He plays exactly like Jayden Hunt of Melbourne.

I say put him on the plane to Perth and play him this week.
