Aliir could be an alternative pinch hitter in the ruck if they only go in with one true ruckman (ie an alternative to Reid). That might explain bringing Melican in.

At least West Coast have as many ruck problems as we do. Maybe Longmire and Simpson can come to some agreement and commit to playing Mitchell and Papley as their second rucks!

As I thought after watching him in the NEAFL GF & the JLT games, the official KPD pecking order is Grundy, Aliir, MELICAN!

Can't believe they've brought back Cunningham - sheesh, just wish he'd turn up the wick a bit and extend himself!

Notice BJ is an emergency so hasn't had his papers stamped yet, I would really like to see him improve his disposal and make the grade as he's quick and finds plenty of NEAFL ball.

Dawson an emergency so still under notice. Edwards back to the rookie list to do more work in the NEAFL.

This weeks team has Papley, Hayward, Florent as the small forwards, not too bad.

I am disappointed that Dawson hasn't been given a chance to back up from last week.

What a strange selection - Papley - with no match practice for a second year player wow! The size difference of Eagles backs vs our forwards when Reid is having to cover the ruck will be amusing.
Why would we risk Reid as a ruck-man? What did Cunningham do to deserve a recall, Dawson seemed to offer more that Foote? Oh well the selection committee knows best, but I'm scratching my head with this weeks selections.

Obviously, Horse thinks the way to beat the Eagles is to go small and soft. Who am I to question his wisdom?

I am hoping that my team selection is on a par with my tipping from last week. Papley has had no pre season to speak of and is straight in. No second ruck and no confidence in the first ruck. Has Cameron got a problem as I would have much preferred him to Cunningham. Melican promoted I guess as a travelling emergency. Rohan is expected back next week which means either Fox or Melican back to the rookie list. I am tipping a loss this week which means you can probably put your house on the Swans.

Surely the much maligned Brandon Jack is a better option than a lot of these players, especially Foote and Cunningham

At least he puts on pressure to the opposition and puts in his all. Seems to have a knack of getting the ball, while his disposal can be shoddy its not much worse than a lot of our senior players
