I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

This does seem to be a theme running on the boards at the moment. Conspiracy theorists, haters of the southern states, attention seeking - whatever it is - it does get a bit tiresome after a while.

I thought exactly as you did, but didn't have the energy to respond to it in the end.

Geez I was just thinking (yeah it hurt- a lot!!! ????????) there is still a possibility that it could be Swans v GWS - but also it could be an all South Australian affair too - imagine if that happened ??? Port Adelaide are flying under the radar. The media hype now and that Dusty is is bigger than Jesus (so the tigers faithful and some media would have you believe) is just going to be mind numbingly vile!! Thank god I live in Sydney!! And another thing!!! Today you have the Swans at the SCG we have 49000 roughly attending - there is an NRL match on next door as well they will be lucky to get 20000 (and that's between 2 Sydney sides - and they say NRL is the more popular??)

I thought both sides looked eminently beatable yesterday. The Tigers looked very good in the final quarter, once Geelong gave up, but before that couldn't score even when their pressure was good. Certainly Geelong showed nothing to suggest we should be scared of them if we get to play them next weekend.

Mind you, they've often struggled after a bye so might be better next week. But Selwood didn't look fit and I wondered if something was up with Dangerfield too. He got plenty of the ball but didn't seem as explosive as normal, and got caught HTB on several occasions.

I can only assume that you are from Victoria. I know you might think it a bit upity for ""interstaters" to dare a raise an opinion, especially supporter s from a former Victorian club, but we are a Sydney club first and foremost. More members and fans reside in sydney. The AFL is run by Victorians for Victorians. Until that changes, or you go off and support a Victorian club (I hear tigers have a bandwagon to join), you'll just have to put up with it.

Why focus on the negative (or possibility of negative) when there is so much to be positive about.

Totally agree Liz. My big worry is getting through today. It seems that most commentators and people on this board seem to think it is a fait accompli. We should win but any complacency will see us with our pants pulled down.

Actually we need to be careful.

Remember last year and the bulldogs 50 frees to nothing???

If the tigers make the GF, anyone they play will get the same treatment.

Far better for them to lose the PF.

Lived there for a year, in swan st Richmond n would have to agree 100%. Victorians bang on about Sydney supporters knowing nothing about the game but when it comes to the NATIONAL competition they would have to be the most illiterate bunch going around. Not surprised when you listen to the garbage they get fed by the Melbourne media on a regular basis.

I thought the same- Richmond's pressure was excellent, but they seemed completely incapable of taking advantage of it. They looked like they were playing without a half forward line for the first half.

As someone who grew up in Sydney and now lives in Melbourne, I have never had anyone tell me that swans supporters don't know the game. Could it be that they are right in both cases?

I was just amazed at how many turnovers there were!!! Motlop had a shocker but having said that, Geelong just looked really tired. Richmond were gifted a lot in that they rarely got pinged for HTB and the the number of throws was astounding - Geelong got pinged most times. The crowd roar certainly makes a difference - and it affects the umps no doubt. The Tigers supporters are a ferocious bunch - I'm kinda glad we aren't playing them Purely for the personal safety of swans supporters!! ????????

The ground dimensions kill Geelong. They push hard to defend but can't spread their defence as good on the wider ground like they can at kardinia park. It's why it's an issue playing finals & GF at the mcg for teams that have to play their as the highest ranked side but not their home ground. It's why sides from WA, SA n Geelong struggle a bit there. If that game is played at kardinia park I'd pick Geelong to win 8 times out of ten.

Funny how each person looks at things Wardy. Thought Geelong got the better of umpiring. Two soft decisions cost Tigers two goals plus Selwood is still a protected species.
