I watch the game, not meaningless stats. Fantasy points is the greatest joke ever put up as being any indicator of a player's value. I honestly wondered if Nankervis was playing in the first half.

I enjoyed that presentation....well, more than last years that's for sure....they are certainly a classier club now than they were back in the 80's. Better team on the day. Can't complain......

Watching these teams today really hurts as we'd beaten both on their home decks. A pity our inevitable bad game came in a cut-throat final.

Dream team points are just stats. Fantasy points tie into champion data ratings

If Melbourne Storm were playing the Balmain Tigers in the NRL GF how much love would Storm be getting in NSW. If you don't like it why don't you just EFF OFF and watch rugby FFS.

Interesting that the last 5 grand finals have seen a Victorian club defeat an interstate team at the MCG even though in four of those instances the non-Victorian team has finished higher and if everything was fair should have earned the home Granny. It was bad enough last year, but with the Hawks and Tigers the MCG is their weekly Home!

Tigers will go down in history as deserved winners, they have been the better team but this match is at the wrong ground. How long do we have to wait for the MCG 'deal' to finish?
I would be in favour of clubs (or cities) nominating for the GF (that is decided before the season starts), but I don?t think the system would be any fairer having the first-ranked team with the home ground advantage (considering the inequities of the home and away draw).

The one advantage that clubs have (in general) with the game being played at the one venue is that they can plan for it, as it is a known quantity.

From 13th place in 2016 to a premiership. Not bad. It was a great team effort, playing relentless footy. They took away Adelaide's game, whose performance reminded me of our own performance against Geelong. It's hard to say why such a good team can fumble all day and look so lethargic on the such a big occasion. I don't quite understand it, but I can see that it just doesn't happen to us.

It was a totally lopsided and boring finals series, where only the meaningless Eagles-PA was close, but wasn't exactly a high quality game.

2 consecutive fairy tales. I hope we can get back to business in 2018.

The season is done and Dustined. In a season where anyone could have won the premiership, anyone did. Richmond's season could have made the plot for a great story. It even has the plot device of early failure: a few games in a row where they coughed up a least-quarter lead and an epic flogging by St Kilda. Fairytale stuff.

The game was boring in the end. At least the swans provide interesting grand finals (apart from 14).

If we ever win another in my lifetime I wish that the result is known before the end so we can sing the song and just cheer every possession like the tigers supporters did around me. Although when the siren goes in a close one the feeling is unbelievable ????.

Tigers were clearly beyond a doubt a better team on the day (shades of 2014 in fact) but this is a worrying trend

Do you REALLY earn a premiership if you don't beat Sydney, Hawthorn or Geelong in the Grand final? I suspect that Richmond will be a bit like the Western Bulldogs, a one hit wonder. Game based entirely on pressure which is hard to sustain once you reach the pinnacle. A few top-end players and a swag of quick triers.

Well, that was a dull game and an underwhelming final series. Only one game out of nine had a margin of less than six goals.
All the talk about what an even comp and year it was, and then the exact opposite occurs in the finals. Go figure.
