Gerard Whatley is saying he thinks Buddy will go for one, maybe two weeks for the hit on Menadue, whereas the other commentators are convinced he didn't get him in the head and think he might get off. I've always respected his opinion but I'm really starting to dislike Gerard......

I am thrilled for the boys, after half-time they were like a different team but I stand by my remarks at half time, they were pathetic. Turning the game around and winning as they did when the season was on the line is really important. So many of the players had moments to forget but in the end contributed well to the win.

Newman and Papley have become really important for us.

Heeney is all class and to think he had glandular fever not that long ago.

Not enough love on here for Lloyd, unfashionable but just keep getting it and makes good decisions under pressure.

Hayward doesn't turn 19 until after the season, he will be a gun, very glad he committed to a contract extension.

Great, great win by the guys, you could see Longmire was stoked after the game, as was Bobby Skilton, nice to see the players going to him in the rooms afterwards.

BUT, I don't want to see an unchanged team next week as there were passengers today, primarily whipping boy Towers, time to go back to the NEAFL, Dawson must come up. Tippett can stay down there for another week as well.

From what I've seen, I'd be shocked if he got anything. Contact seemed to be chest and Menadue did play a role in the collision by coming into his path. In fact, I'm not even sure that it was worthy of a free, but of course, I might be biased.

Report on Buddy should be withdrawn.

I don't think it was either, with the benefit of the replay, but you can understand why the umpire paid it (and reported him). What was less excusable from the umpires was the free against Buddy for entering the square when the Swans only had three players in there to start with. Surely, with four umpires, and the slight delay inherent in the stop ball situation (ie because a free was paid), one of them might have pointed out that the Swans never had four players in the square and proceed with another bounce/throw.

Just watched the video and agree completely! After the incident, Rance tried to make himself look like a hero and Buddy promply put him on his back! Lovely!

Don't drop towers! There was one moment where he fumbled or dropped it up about 4 times in a row, but kept following through and eventually took possession for a goal! That kind of persistence in the face of mediocrity is something we need at the swans.

Wow , heart bloody racing stuff .... the Tigers are not that confident in a crisis finish . I was amazed they didn't get a goal when they got down their end a few times.
What a sweet win. I actually thought the umps put their whistles away in the chaos situations during the last 10 mins.
If Buddy's out, we've still got Kurt .

We'll need to bring back Melican and ... dare I say it, Aliir for Essendon. Outs would likely be Marsh and Towers. Will they bring Tippo back this week?

That mark by Hayward was incredible for such a young player he's going to be a GUN, he's already more consistent than Rohan. Great win for such a young group hope they can carry it on against Essendon Friday night hopefully at a packed SCG.

Also Zac needs to dispose the ball quicker its like he's waiting for the tackler sometimes.

Umpiring was terrible, just the inconsistency

So are opposition teams fans going to boo Rance for staging free kicks now?
