Hibbered really important for them so reckon we'll have a plan.

Not sure Gawn will dominate against Naismith like he did last week against Weagles.

I noticed that about Sinclair too but I'm guessing the ruck position might be slightly different with Cameron and Tippett both unavailable to oppose Naismith.

So the yellow training tops told the tale!

Towers, how does he do it? Just can't have another anonymous game and stay up.

So only one ruckman ?? I'd have kept Sinclair and omitted Towers - but that's just me - can Naismith go the full 4 quarters?

You'd imagine Reid or Towers to give Naismith a chop out.

How does Dawson not get made an emergency?

You might like to ask how does McVeigh actually get a game after last week's reserves performance. He wasn't that good. He did some clever stuff but still very slow and got blitzed in several tackles. I don't think he's ready. He might prove me wrong but I doubt it. I suppose all he has to do is be clever and kick 2 goals. But our forward defence is going to be crap because he hasn't got the speed to catch me let alone an AFL player. I saw him chasing last week and he was terrible, never got near them.

McVeigh, oh well. 60mins of footy and straight in. Our club has problems with coach and player relationships.

The problem with this move is it sends the wrong message to the young players, like Aliir, Dawson etc. The message is that a proven old player, no longer older, is more value than you. McVeigh, other than some clever stuff a couple of times when he had the pill was ordinary. He gifted them two or three clangers and was sl slow I think Mick Nolan could have outrun him. He's definitely not ready, nor has he earned it, for seniors. I would have kept him back until he could at least match NEAFL pace. But he is in and if only played forward he might just kick a few sausage rolls. But if Horse plays him back or mids we are in deep @@@@.

I do hope Towers is the 2nd ruck and not Reid. He will be up against Pederson who is a 193cm and 99k size only.

I also note that 3 of the 6 top goal kickers for Melbourne will not be playing - Gartlett 29; Watts 20; Jones 10.

Playing will be Petrucca with 18; Hannan with 17 and T McDonald with 12 (of which 5 were last week)
