6 weeks is the correct penalty. Good to see Goodwin apologise to Longmire on behalf of the MFC. They are obviously not happy, that's Hogan, Lewis, Vince and now Bugg done for multiple weeks for striking. Not the kind of image any club wants.
AFL wants any clenched fist action dealt with severely to stamp it out. Notice how jumper punching has all but disappeared.Comment

I was hoping for more than 6 weeks but will settle for that. We now wait to see how serious the AFL is about stamping out acts of thuggery when they deal with Ali Fahour. His actions from the weekend, combined with his priors, should immediately result is his sacking. It's bad enough having thugs playing the game but having them within the AFLs management controlling how this game is run.Comment

I agree and let's face it, it mirrors the 'coward punch' or 'one punch attack' and pretty much all of the public wants that stamped out, pronto. As I said in an earlier post, if it happened outside a pub or nightclub, the penalty and consequences could/would be far worse. Refreshing to see the AFL get something right for a change.......

LOL. I'm sure Bacchour, Waleed and Malcolm would be happy to oblige.Originally posted by Club 80I'm sure Ali Fahour would have some outstanding character references.Comment

Yes, I thought that was funny too. You're right about Ali's added brutality....after he 'coward punched' the first guy, he was off to the right to have a go at another player (oh, you said that). He looked out of control, which is why I think he at least should lose his AFL job. I guess we'll see how well his connections stack up against the AFL's integrity.Originally posted by Club 80Ali's was a lot worse. He took out a guy who was engaged in a front on fight and then went looking to take more guys out. Buggs was bad but not to the brutal degree of Ali's.
I was reading that Ali Fahour wrote a character reference for Bachar Houli. How ironic.

Bugg..... 6 possessions ...Didn't put his head over the ball once all game....That's what he should be embarrassed about.Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it's time to pause and reflect... MTComment

Now in hindsight, that one is very ironicOriginally posted by Club 80

Yep willing to throw a cheap shot but then completely unwilling to get stuck in and do the hard yards in the contest....."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

I am glad the NFL have banned him for life because that was one of the lowest acts I have ever seen on a footy field.I was hoping for more than 6 weeks but will settle for that. I see he has "stood down" from his role at the AFL. He should have been summarily dismissed but because he is Ahmed's bro don't be surprised if he gets a second chanceComment
