I agree with this thread being created, but maybe it should be renamed to the 'Annual troll of NARFs who won't venture to Homebush' or something similar.

I'll be watching it from the warm comforts of either home or a pub. It's winter after all and I don't want to trudge through the snow to get out there!

GWS and the AFL have ordered extra snow blowers to keep the lines open.

We don't want a repeat of last year

I agree with the renaming. This is pointless.

It could be a unique swans thing that fans only go to home games. In Melbourne, fans go to fans go to games home and away.

Is it the years of isolation where an away game meant a long trip Interstate. ?

I'm not 100% convinced that Swans SCG going members are any softer or more likely to be a fair
weather friend than supporters of the Melbourne teams. I watch (probably too much) footy on TV
and it seems to be a fairly long standing "tradition" that when a Melbourne team is not going very well
there are way less people in the stands for their home games than when they are winning every
week. Not everyone has unlimited funds and that might come into play a bit when it comes to paying for
away games that are outside of what they get with their membership packages. Crazy as it may seem
to the regular RWO poster, not everyone in the Swans 60,000 plus membership is as attached to the
                team as they are.

It's a bit awkward to get there ... but it's a really good little ground to watch the footy, the food is healthier, the Giants supporters are friendly and there's always kick to kick with Leon Cameron joining the throng.
                  I enjoy the experience.

There will be trackwork with buses replacing trains on the T3 Bankstown Line, T1 North Shore Line and T1 Northern Line but there will also be Major Event Buses running to/from Olympic Park
Thanks Ugg. I'm away all week interstate so may not have heard that. Good to know for planning.

He cares for the same reason I do. With our membership numbers we should be selling the place out and filling it, yet we don't. Why not? I accept that we have a large number of members who live outside Sydney, particularly Victoria but also elsewhere, but more of our Sydney based fans should be going to this game, but don't.

As for your trip to Geelong, nice work!

Ok, this is now embarrassing. Even the giants are taking the Mickey out of our fickle supporters...

This is the first line of an article on their website:
"The Swans are heading west - well some of them anyway - so..."

I am going. Hoping for a better result than 2014's opening game both result and weather-wise. That thunderstorm!

IN MELBOURNE, A HOME GROUND IS AN AWAY GROUND IN MOST CASES !!!

We give them their only full house of the season. That's OUR money in THEIR pockets.
In an ideal world, NO swans members would attend this game... not even the cheer squad.
Instead, everyone should support OUR club by buying merchandise from the SwanShop.
                                It's a win-win situation.
OUR club get the monetary support, AND the AFL get pissed off at us (and fabricate another fine).

Get behind me on this one.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
