They made the decision last year and Harley ran AFL NSW/ACT for three years.

The main role of the Football Operations Manager is to decide which injured players do not appear on the club's official injury list and do a 2 minute weekly video about it to be shown on the club's website. It's a critical job that can make the difference between winning a premiership or the wooden spoon.

My top candidates to replace Harley in the role are:
        1. Warwick Capper
        2. Mike Pyke
        3. Ludwig

Like Pridham and Longmire? Both groomed by their predecessors.

I wonder if we were the 'blueprint' that Eddie followed when he put his succession plan from Malthouse to Buckley in place? If so we have done a much better job that he did.

Longmire is a coach, not an executive, and playing has a lot more relevance for his position.

There are a lot of similarities between appointment's of Longmire/Buckley and Pert/Harley. Just shows they can easily go either way.

No. This was the blueprint Eddie followed.

The succession plan only works if both parties agree! It also only works when done at the right time.

I just love seeing Collingwood slip lower and lower down the ladder each year ????.

How exactly? other than both being ex players theres no similarities Pert was a media exec for Austereo and at 9. Harley stayed in the Afl and ran AFL NSW/ACT for three years and three years as head of football for the swans and is going to shadow Ireland for the next 12 months. And we don't know if he worked during his playing career Ted Richards worked for later 6 six years of his career.

Pert was also a 'mate' of Eddie as is Buckley and Gubby Allan. Pies the real home of 'jobs for the boys'

Yes.....but we got it right by replacing a coach who was willing and ready to leave and replaced him with another who was actually ready to coach and I dare say the same will apply to the CEO position. Collingwood stuffed up because of Eddie's misplaced worship of Buckley. We are far more sensible.....
