Nicely spotted, royboy42. What were you doing trawling this thread from so long ago? The retirements weren't hard to call but the trades of Rohan and Hannebery were harder to predict: when did sprite post?
This thread was very popular last year - we're a whisper from 5000 posts! This year's thread is hotting up a bit now but has been a lot quieter, especially early in the year. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Thanks royboy. Perhaps we can revisit my 2019 prognostications next year.

I just heard from an impeccable source that Joe Daniher will not be coming to us in 2020. But....never say never.Comment

Thurlow - 9 games only in 2019
Clarke - 14 games “
Menzel - 7 games “
Just guessing these guys may have been on $250k pa or less if games in Snrs dependant ?
$750k pa towards our salary cap ?
Could we trade again better in 2019/20 or should we persist ?
Bit disappointing really but does 2019 only determine our ability to trade ? Re these players specifically ?
It looks desperate !!!
Clarke - could release Hewett in the near future from ever tagging again. Clarke is only 22yrs of age could possibly do a kennedy and become an inside mid. Skills worse then Kennedy’s first year.
Thurlow - 9 games only......I have no idea of his trajectory ? 25yrs old and could he do a ted Richards lol I doubt it
Menzel - 7 games was not good and he looked slow from no pre season. Has upside if fit and cheap in 2020 to help our depth mainly"be tough, only when it gets tough"

A re-evaluation of every team's 2018 AFL draft: Re-ranking every club's 2018 AFL draft haul. They upgraded us to a B+, which I can live with. But I also think they could have been more generous to us because we nailed the draft, especially considering the picks we were working with. Blakey's a bargain. So is Rowbottom. McInerney looks exciting but time will tell. Foot - who knows? Don't agree with various gradings for other clubs either. All opinions are not equal. KB's reflection on our 2018 draft haul a year on: Draft Revisited: 2018 - sydneyswans.com.au. Was a good year for us, like 2016 was too.All opinions are not equal.
