Teams will look different after four emergencies come out. Not three as stated on team sheets.

I wonder if McVeigh?s inclusion will cost Fox a spot. I don?t think Jarrad can play forward any more as he can?t chase so he?ll have to play down back. I think of the back 6 named in that team, Newman will play wing/forward leaving McVeigh to slot in there and Lloyd also featuring in defence. Having Fox also in defence would upset the balance. I suppose he could play forward.

With Rohan out Hayward is the most logical replacement with his pace and goal threat.

      My predicted final bench
      Hayward McVeigh Cunningham Florent

I can't see the full squad because the link doesn't work in the article.[/QUOTE]

Half of last season the link never worked either

I'd be happy with anyone from that bench except Robbo and Foote. Both have little impact during games for my liking.

McVeigh fair dinkum. Our club seems to owe something to him. Burning more games on a 18-22 rank player who cant chase.

I'll go with a bench of Fox, McVeigh, Florent and Cunningham. Longmire loves Hayward and Rohan being out helps his case, but his tackling hasn't been much good so far.

I agree with this bench. Hayward's form has been average this pre season. Needs to get some form behind him.

Cunningham coming off a career high disposal game won't be left out. If McVeigh has travelled he'll play. Fox could be a swingman as he has good pace, composed and tough but maybe the class of Hayward will prevail, albeit he's shown little in preseason. Florent has bulked up and doesn't look out of place any more.

                        Maybe Hayward McVeigh Cunningham Florent

By 18-22 rank player, you mean he's in the best 22?

Andrew Wu in SMH this morning writes "There are no debutants but unheralded rookie, Robbie Fox, who played three games last year, will start the year in the seniors"?perhaps he's got some inside tip?

That would make it Fox in for Hannebery, and a toss-up between Florent and Hayward to join McVeigh and Cunningham in the 22. Hayward has had an interrupted preseason, so looked a bit behind in the JLT. Florent has looked very good and has been moving through the midfield (as has Hayward, I guess?started at centre bounce a couple of times). I would be excited to see either in the 22.

Travelling emergencies will be interesting. Hate to say it but I agree with Ludwig. If so they might deem it better for Hayward not to travel as an emergency but stay back and do some solid training and send someone like Foote who will be less impacted by the travel as he has had a full pre-season. They might send two for this match, maybe Marsh and Foote.
