Just to give an indication of the growing strength of the Swans academy - the Under 16s also played on the weekend against GWS and won 99-13. Very comprehensive display. Game two is this weekend out at Blacktown.

Wow, that's a massive win unless GWS picked a dodgy side or we have a belter of an U16 class coming through for the 2020 ND, hope it's the latter.

It?s the later. I watched a couple of quarters of the game. Wow some incredible talent. The academy is now a serious elite pathway.

And the next year coming through is considered even stronger from what I understand . In fact five of them already have been elevated to the the 16's to train with them in the elite program

Thanks Barra & Magoo, this is exciting news, I'm imagining the next three drafts could be mainly composed of academy players unless Eddie gets the VFL to throw in some restrictions!

Heeney and Mills would appear to be outliers but the stronger groups coming through now shows the academy idea is obviously working well, AFL on the rise in NSW but does anyone know how much success GWS is having in western Sydney gaining converts?

Trouble is 707 we can't take them all. The rules restrict us at the top end. The value will be at the lower end with little or no points to use. But 2 gems for the each of next 3 years would be good for our regeneration. It may mean we don't go much to other states for our young talent.

Quarter time out at BT. Swans 6.4 to Giants 1.4. Blakey has kicked three of the Swans' goals.

8.5 to 4.9 at half time. Giants dominated possesion and territory in that quarter. Blakey kicked one goal " out the back" while the second Swans goal came from a terrific individual effort from "Kyle" just seconds before the siren.

3 goals in the first 6 minutes of the last takes his tally to 7 and gives the Swans a nice lead of 28 points

Does Kyle McKeller look like a potential draft pick? Crouch had some good things to say about him in his review of the academy.

We're hiding Blakey away so no one notices him :-)
