So Jones got smashed in a contest in the centre of the ground and was on the ground for a bit. In a great show of sportsmanship one of the freo players - shorter guy with the tats who played pretty well - helped him up then stayed with him for an unusual amount of time because he was clearly concerned about him.
Jones trotted off and got back into it. But I was touched by the sportsmanship displayed there.Comment

Michael Walters. He's actually a terrific player coming back from injury. Ross Lyon probably saved his career by sending him back to his WAFL club to meet team fitness standards a few years ago. That bit of tough love seems to have promoted his growth as a fine young man and footballer. He comes from the same street as Nicnat and Chris Yarran, so probably not an easy road.Comment

Re the question about why Joey wasn't chaired off. It was Smooch's 200th for the Swans, it was Joey's 200 playing for the Swans - he's already had his cudos (swans plus hawkes games)If you've never jumped from one couch to the other to save yourself from lava then you didn't have a childhoodComment

Walters is my favourite Dockers player by far, and quite probably my favourite non-Swans player across the entire competition. He was a bit rusty yesterday but still did his best to spark his team up forward. And he's developed from a young player who took time to adjust to the AFL system to one of the leaders at the Dockers. Would love to have him at Sydney, except that I think the Dockers need players like him more.Comment

No. Gaz does some amazing things e.g the mark he took last week against the hawks, running back which led to Ronke's last goal. He will never be a high possession accumulator but his tackling and speed especially in the forward half is superb.Comment

I noticed a broad band of white tape around Kennedy's thigh, just above the knee yesterday. Can't recall if it's been there in recent games. Seems to confirm that he's carrying some kind of injury, that would help explain why he's not been as dominant - consistently - as he usually is.Comment

Maybe Gary does need a stint in the two's......I didn't see the game, how was his pressure and one percenters?
I don't put too much store in the fantasy points, they don't factor enough of the quality of the contribution over the volume. Champion data points are a better indicator. For example, CD had Kennedy, Parker, McVeigh and Mills all ahead of Heeney, which is a much better reading of the game.
Having said that, Rohan was 4th worst Swans player in the CD ratings, so you could be right about him needing a break. He wasn't great.Comment

Nice to sit back, relax and enjoy an easy win at least once a year. I don't think Freo are that bad a team, but we seem to have it over them in recent encounters.
Hannebery looked very underdone to say the least. Franklin clearly some way off his best too, but did enough trademark fun stuff. The replays of the elbow incident caused some oohs and aahs around the ground. I didn't get a good look but seems like there's a good case for incidental.
Enjoyed the "as big as Buddy's" cheer for Ronke at the start. More typical game from him this week, but still pretty good. Also enjoyed watching Sinclair, Heeney, Mills and getting a first good look at McCartin.
Rohan was never going to shine in that kind of game, he only does clutch match-winning stuffComment

I?m just loving watching Ollie developing into a senior player - essential style of player for our 22 if we want to match the speed at which afl can be played at in 2018
Really enjoyed Ollie?s first half asa critical transition player"be tough, only when it gets tough"

He is coming on leaps and bounds in the middle of the ground.
Again, something I really only noticed last week at the MCG.
Very prominent, and full of confidence.Comment
