They play footy in Tassie, they have supported AFL matches very well in Tassie (if the crowds are down lately, it's probably because the locals are getting sick of watching teams they don't actually barrack for and are ready for their 'own' team) and they have actual Australian Rules footballers in Tassie.......pretty good foundation.

I think you are exaggerating your knowledge of everything......GC should be dissolved. A Tassie team would never be so embarrassing......

Time to be a 'glass half full' kinda guy for a change Barry.

What if this occurred in the last 5 seconds of a Grand Final.
This is complete over officiating the game.
It's the worst rule in footy.

Wow, Freo started on fire in the first quarter but I see Adelaide have kicked 6 goals to nil in the second to restore normality.....

No doubt a similar sort of fun, as being amongst Queenslanders, the day after they suffer a rare State of Origin loss. I call it, 'inhaling the scent of roasting martyr'.

The problem is that they are obsessed with imperial expansion, the clearest example of this being the preposterous China thing.
China is stupid, and it's even more stupid that an expansion club like the sun's have to leave their expansion area to go to another expansion place. Madness.

Tassie probably could have supported a team 25 years ago when the VFL branched out. But today, you need too much money to run an AFL club. The Tassie gov should not be propping them up.

I am ambivalent about the idea of a Tasmanian team, but the idea of the state government providing financial support is surely a good investment. They obviously did it with the Hawks, and bringing people to the state has to be high on their priorities (which football would continue to do in an expanded fixture).

So maybe the AFL could prop them up, like they're doing for GWS and the Gold Coast.

It?s a huge middle finger from the AFL to Tasmania . Two teams in Qld, NSW, games in the Alice, Darwin, China and NZ .
Tassie has had a Sheffield shield team for over 40 yrs and still no AFL team .
                          What the ..... ?

9 teams in Melbourne is your unbalance. If you think about Tassie team would work, move a Melbourne team. Like the BBL hurricanes, most of the players could live in Melbourne.

How many current sun's players so you think would move to Tassie?

Hopefully you meant on Tuesday. Or isn't the Queens Birthday celebrated today in the City of Churches?

The 2 Tassie clubs, North Melbourne and Hawthorn should merge and move to Tassie.
