You?re right Mark26. I thought his papers had been marked but apparently he gets a last minute reprieve

I think Rose's first match was against GWS and he kicked a bag. Did he come on as a sub? Is my memory playing tricks? Let's see if he can recapture some of that form.

Came on in the last quarter and kicked 3

Hey Wolftone. I listened to and quoted from the injury update. It was after that, at Longmire?s presser that he said they definitely wouldn?t play.

Being curious as to why this blockbuster game is being played at Etihad & not at Richmond's home MCG, just found out Richmond has a deal where they're required to play 1 home game at Etihad each season. That being the case, would've thought their R7 clash v Freo would've been the likely candidate (which was played at the G).

Secondly, can we assume that both Reid & Melican will be playing in the NEAFL this week?

Finally, with Buddy playing his 100th game for the Swans this week it means if he & Jesinta produce a boy in the future he will qualfy play for us as a Father-Son (or Hawthorn). Hope the AFL don't make further changes to this rule just to prevent him doing so! (another Clarkson - Gill coffee catchup).

Rose in? Wow! This will the last chance he'll have of saving his AFL career.

He came on late in the third or early in the 4th qtr as the sub. The match was over by that stage and the pressure was off so I certainly wouldn't say he kicked a bag.

Great points KSAS. The AFL have probably done this so that we play fewer games at the G. They want to make it as easy as possible for the Victorian clubs when they come up against us.

Whatever. I was impressed with Rose in the little time he had on ground. There was plenty of energy and three goals in a quarter showed why we drafted him. Unfortunately, he hasn't lived up to expectations, but I would love for him to have a blinder and demand another game through form.

Yep, can't help but get the impression the AFL has a policy whereby non Vic teams are limited in playing only 2 games at the G each season (v Hawthorn & Melbourne for us this year). It also ensures Richmond continue there unbeaten 16 game winning run at the G, as we're their biggest threat to end it. Be sweet to knock them off on the last Saturday in September should we both get there!

The truth is far less sinister, although still does limit the number of MCG games we get. Apparently all Vic teams (I think Geelong are part of it) are required to host at least one game at Docklands as part of the AFL's ownership deal. Why the Tigers (or the AFL) chose this game rather than another one is an interesting question but I'm pleased that we're playing them there as they are so good at the MCG and we are so good at Docklands. I know we want more games at the MCG but we should not be complaining about this one for a second.

I'm pleased to see Rose get another chance. I hope he plays well.

I think it is slightly suspicious that one of the few teams that might be able to beat Richmond in September will not have the opportunity to play them at the MCG beforehand.

However I think things will change next year and we?ll play less at Etihad and more at the MCG.

Unless I can't get in with family (or get seats) on my Swans membership (GA admission) because of all the Richmond fans present. Hopefully being a school/work night will keep a lot away.

                                OMG I'm bloody nervous.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
