Seniors is not the place to build fitness/form. Time has come to either put him out for the year or play NEAFL, badly cooked! I defy anyone to say why slow as treacle Hanners should be in seniors ahead of say Newman.

Serious decisions need to be made, this is male cow manure!

He looks to have a groin injury and I agree he needs time off or a stint is the ressies. Newman has not played well when given the opportunity in seniors he's just too slow. Beautiful kick but too slow and he turns 26 next year.

I might be wrong but I thought cows, by definition, were female.

It should be male bovine or cattle manure

            TWO effective disposals.
Luffy (special comments on MMM) seems to think he has a hip problem.
I think he's just got a footy problem.

If I were a team member, I wouldn't kick it to him. Even if he was on his own with 20 metres around him. I wouldn't be able to trust him with the ball.
            that's a bit sad.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I think he needs to either rest for 4-5 weeks to get whatever is wrong (groin, calf, or everything else) and then get ready for a finals attempt.

If not that then miss the rest of this year and be ready for another go in 2019.

We cannot afford to play him now in his current form. No run, no sparkle, no assists, nothing !

I can understand why his kicking might be off if he is carrying an injury (although his kicks actually looked better last night), what I don’t get is why his handballs suck so much.

I saw him doing some stationary handballs in the pre-game footage and he looked okay. Unfortunately this did not translate out on the ground during match conditions.

Its awful to see him as such a shadow of his former self. We are quickly running out of troops now so I doubt he will go anywhere, but I would much prefer to send him out to the paddock (Lake?) for a spell, get his body right and have him back in 2019 looking more like the Hanners we have been lucky to witness throughout his career.

Our target should be to get Hanners up and going for January so he can get in a full pre-season. If he doesn't have a bad injury, six months of rehab should do it if the focus is not on this year, but the long term. It's not important that he plays another game this year. We need him to play high quality football for another 5 years.

Same for KJ. Let's try to get him into the best shape possible for the start of next season.

Two? Stats said he had 8 effective disposals, went at 66.6% efficiency.

I stand corrected but in my defence I had consumed a whole bottle of good McLaren Vale Shiraz!

Fear they are both over the hill. If so, massive hole in the short to medium term chances of staying at the pointy end of the ladder. Kieren has a contract for next year and Hanners has one for a few more.

I wish I had a bottle of shiraz watching the game last night...I might be able to forget some of it!

As for Dan, stats say he is about half the player he was a couple of years ago. Realistically he probably a sixth of the player he was. Give him the rest of the year off and hopefully we can see him return to his best next season.

The AFL match report said he sustained a calf injury during the game.

I'm guessing he won't be playing next week.
