Seems like every year about this time, we're talking about how tight it is in the top 8 and the importance of percentage.

So sure, should win this one easy whoever plays, but I hope there's less emphasis on resting/experimenting and more on putting the opposition to the sword.

Could be practice being a defensive forward ala Teddy Richards v Cats?

Line most I am surprised about Grundy being left out. Great to see Cameron in as he has really earned his chance. I concur on percentage. Several top 4 competitors have similar percentages so if we could pick up a big win it will help a lot.

Reg has been managed last two seasons

He rarely did running training last season

His injury is still being managed

I believe it is OP aswell as hannes or something very similar

I dunno about that. A couple of times recently he has been in the top 5 for distance covered in games. That could also be because he spends a lot of time on ground?

I reckon Sinclair (managed) and Kennedy might be late withdrawals.

Straight line running is not an issue with OP if primarily only running once per week etc

Think Sinkers will play but ruck less than he has.

My other mind realises that we are playing the Gold Coast and so we may get a false positive out of these trials. It’s like giving a cricketer their first baggy green against the current West Indies. They’ll probably score a double hundred and look brilliant but we won’t really know how they will stack up against India.
But then again, I don't think it's been a Swans tradition to throw a youngster into the 'deep end' first......

Not always - Ronke debuted against Geelong @ Geelong and to a lesser extent McCartin debuted against the Hawks but I get your point.

Two fair examples there all the same....

He doesn't have the endurance for that. I also doubt that he can read the play well enough.

I’d be more understanding if he was left out due to a choice between himself and Aliir, but really he’s been omitted in favour of Marsh who I believe is a limited defender.

That just makes no sense at all. He, Rampe and Smith are our most important defenders, regardless of match-ups and team balance. Grundy has has two weeks off so they can't be resting him. The only conclusion I can come to is that he's injured.

With Grundy, it could be a niggle he's played with for awhile but with finals approaching, getting him right well in advance may have become a priority.....

It will be interesting to see if he plays Neafl and if so, for how many minutes.
