I've lost count of the number of goals he's cost us in recent weeks. I quite like the kid, but he needs a serious attitude readjustment.

Yes. The best way forward would be to give up on 2018 and look to 2019. Give Hanners, Buddy and other injured players a chance to recover fully. And play kids. But Horse won't give up on making the finals even though we have zero chance of winning the premiership.

What was so apparent during that game was the superior skill level of the bombers. It was the simple things like hitting a target, being ready for a quick hand pass from a team mate, leading into space, playing in front etc. As a team, our skill level is pretty bad at present. Which I guess brings me to my point. The game plan can only reflect the players' capabilities. There is no way we can play a fast, uptempo, skillful game when our players are not capable of doing so. This was evident towards the end of the 4th quarter when we were trying to play a more run and carry game through the corridor and just continually missed targets and turned it over. Our list has been stagnant over the last few years in terms of recruiting existing AFL listed players. It is time to make some hard decisions about our list and start rebuilding whilst we still have capital as one of the top sides capable of playing finals footy most years. If we don't and play out some lean years with not much change to the list, then we run the risk of enduring what the Lions have - unattractive team to go to or stay at for top pick draftees (think Docherty, Polec, Schache, Aish, Rockliff, Redden, Longer etc).

The kids are tired and the senior players are playing hurt. We have no-one else to bring in so they soldier on. They're trying their guts out they just don't have anything left to give. If you bring in lots of inexperienced players and keep playing them, this is what happens. They'll be better for it next year, and the year after.

To me it's about teaching - less so around game plan.

I thought he was no worse then most of the others in terms of softness. How many tackles did we drop off? Time to bring in an NRL tackle and wrestle coach to give them a few tips because my 6 year old daughter hugs me harder than the swans tackle at the moment. (also it was a cracking goal that he kicked!)

No professional coach or athlete can just "give up" on a season. It doesn't work that way. Also, no way the two Andrews (Pridham or Ireland) will have the stones to fire Longmire...they will blame it on the injuries. One can only hope that the end of 2018 will lead to fire in the belly in 2018 and they injury bug will be kinder...

Injuries get to a point of critical mass. We're past it. I'd like Buddy to be rested till he can train again (end of 2018?) and Josh ain't right. Give some more kids a game, see if we can win a few more this year but be right for next. Play Keiren if he's retiring - hold him back if he isn't. Tonight was sad but inevitable. I don't think it's Horse's game plan I think he has simply run out of player options. I'm off to Greenland next week and I don't expect the Swans to be in the 8 when I get back. At least I'll never have to be in a train full of jubilant Pies supporters coming back from Homebush. Just save enough energy to beat the Hawks in the last round - even better if that put them out of the 8, too.

I must say, as a foreigner who maybe doesn't understand how Aussie sports work from the business side, it is appalling to me that the Commissioner (CEO, Chairman, whatever) can publicly go for a "cup of coffee" with a sitting coach during the season. Do the words "appearance of impropriety" not exist down under? That should have been Gillon's dismissal right there! I don't get to have a cup o' Joe with a sitting judge when I am at trial! I don't care if it was coffee with Longmire or anyone else, it is beyond inappropriate and nobody is willing to call him to task on a blatant act that is tantamount to public corruption! On the other hand, the NRL seems to let the head of officials supervise their own kin, so what do I know? Maybe they can shift to the NBA, since several of the convicted felon referees have retired...

Swanette...too his credit, Longmire acknowledged that the Swans are in a freefall...but he also made sure to note the injuries...
