Will comment more tomorrow but any time we beat collingwood is a good win my book. And just saw a replay of the McCartin goal - nice work young man, nice work!

A win for the bloods of 1918, a win for Harry's 100th, a win for AJs long awaited return, and a win to celebrate the far too short life of Lachlan Poulter from Dunnstown Football Netball club!

    Up the mighty swannies!!!

Went into that game expecting a shellacking, which was on course at half-time. Then in the 3rd quarter I had to contemplate that we might actually win.

And we did. Wow! A really pleasant surprise. I’m not expecting us to make the 8, but happy to enjoy the win.

Buddy was extraordinary kicked 6 and 3 posters. His last right in front of us like a bullet.

Watched the game with my daughter and her new boyfriend (of a month or so) who is a Wobbles supporter.
Went better that it could have, so I guess he gets some brownie points

Kennedy and Hayward are in trouble for sling tackles. Hayward's was particularly bad and I expect him to get 2 weeks. So unnecessary as he would have got a free for HTB..

Hayward’s no loss at the moment anyway. Even if he’s not suspended he deserves to be dropped.

We needed to fight for a good 5 minutes+ longer and then milk time. Instead we rested on our laurels and let the Pies back into it.

I know we have a young team and its been an interesting last 3 yrs we're we've out performed mine and most people's expectations, but that drop in play seemed more like an attitude thing than anything else and didn't reflect well on us as a team and what we stand for
It's called momentum and our young team has more trouble turning it around. We have been spoiled as a supporter group for years and at the moment for the first time in ages we are stacked with inexperience. We are bound to be more up and down.

That would explain our last month’s performances

Both should be fine, one of our guys copped a similar tackle and didn’t even get a free

FWIW none of them should be reportable or free kicks

A lot of people suggesting that players need a rest. In many ways I agree - the younger guys look tired and our older guys look beaten up. However, if you saw any of the NEAFL yesterday, we just don’t have the cattle to give anyone a rest.

Watch the final quarter again, we just stopped playing for a good five minutes and let the opposition in. We did the exact same thing against the Suns
To Collingwood and our credit, Pies threw everything at us in that last quarter. It was fast and furious, but we held on. I saw signs of our early-season form where we would find a way to win through the chaos. I agree that we weren’t all there, but it was a good performance

We’ve definitely looked unfit the latter part of this season. Age would be a factor more than anything, so perhaps ‘less developed’ rather than unfit?

Great win whenever you beat the Pies, doesn't matter how or where.

Buddy on fire, has won us so many games off his own boot.

McVeigh makes a difference, yes I know he's slow but the brain is fast and vision great, can also hit a target!

AJ, I was always hopeful but never really thought he'd make it back, nice first up effort, fingers crossed he can have a good run from here, congrats to the club for their support.

Superboot Dawson looks to be settling into the team, will get better as he builds games. preseason working as an inside mid, needs a role as he's best 22 IMO.

Sinclair got smashed in ruck but did a lot around the ground. This is where the much bigger Naismith doesn't get dominated by the Grundy, Gawn types. Next year will be interesting, do we play Sinclair as a FF/ruck and bring in Naismith as the main ruck?

A few passengers last night, Ronke appeared injured? Hayward has just lost touch, KJ same as before the break.

What an enjoyable night. True, there were parts of the game that were boring, parts that were disappointing, but I went in determined to enjoy AJ's return without expecting much given the recent weeks's efforts. The third quarter was great and the way we hung on/fought back in the last restored my faith in the boys.

Oh how we'd missed McVeigh. He adds so much to the team. I noticed a few times that on top of his normal directing, he was directing team mates to pick up his running player, knowing he couldn't catch up/match the speed. Clearly he knows his limitations and is working around them.

It was great to see glimpses of the old AJ. I was a massive fan of his in 2011 and 2012 and was so, so thrilled to see him back on the big stage.

Was I imagining things at the game or were Collingwood getting away with a lot of Bulldogs-like 'handballs' (ie throws)? From up in the stands it looked like they were throwing all of the place.
