Those who have the greatest power to hurt us are those we love.

I hope not! I think we need more midfield depth and a ruckman whose body will hold up. How many games has Daniher had over the past two years? I wouldn't mind Daniher, but pick 4 is too high imo.

It would make sense for the Swans to put pick 4 on the table and see what offers they get. Particularly as we have an excess of youth and a lack of experience.

        BUT

The Hun is reporting that: "the Swans privately made clear they will not chase Daniher despite him being out of contract in 2020."

"the fact Sydney are fielding the youngest list in football, suggests Sydney could benefit from the addition of some key pieces from the outside to truly launch themselves as finals contenders for 2020 ... However, assuming ... retirements will automatically free up the cash required is wrong and The Daily Telegraph understands other moves and changes would have to happen on Sydney’s list."

SEN and Mclure trade in a lot of gossip.

Correct, need to fill media space so any story will do.

Wait and see on Daniher, 11 games in two years I believe so let's see if he gets through next year and then he'll be OOC & RFA so potentially free. For once we don't have a cap problem but the Injectors probably do. You wouldn't want to have to talk a trade with that ***** Dododoro!

Would love if we traded up to pick 1 or 2. (Pick 4/5 + player). But i feel we will probably trade it down for extra points like we normally do.

Why would we trade down for points this year with no outstanding academy prospect to use the points on ?

Agreed. We aren't chasing points this year which makes me wonder who is??? Who are the F/S and and academy kids this year?

Eg we could trade picks 23, 40, and 53 for GWS's pick 12. This would be a loss of 209 points.

I've been told on the grapevine that McDonald Tipunwuti is likely to go to the Bulldogs on a bigger offer. Essendon can't match it due to their tight cap. I'll be really p155'd if we swap Papley for Daniher. Papley is a reliable two goal a game small forward that doesn't get injured. Daniher plays even less than Reid.

I would be disappointed to see us trade out such a high draft pick at this stage too.

They were and this included a lot of their established players. As a keen supporter, it is easy to get upset about particular players when their perceived faults are common across the whole competition. Jones has a lot of good qualities and he would be badly missed IMO. Can remember when Leo Barry was a whipping boy for Swans supporters early on in his career. Adam Goodes also had a lot of detractors in his first few years. Need to take the emotion out of it at times.
Ok then, although I wouldn't say I was 'upset'. My observation is that Jones makes too many short kicking errors. He also still gets caught with the ball too much.

Zak's made some improvements to his game. Goal-kicking, particularly on the run, and anger management and discipline come to mind. Perhaps he will improve the areas mentioned above. I'm certainly not saying we should initiate a trade at all, just that I'd listen to a decent offer.

I pondered whether we might go after Daniher. Insurance for Buddy, in circumstances where Reid is not stepping up enough, Blakey's future is in midfield and McCartin might be needed down back.

As others have said, you'd really need reason to be optimistic about his health to give up pick 4. Having said that, he did play 4 full seasons from 2013-2017, culminating in a 65 goal, All Australian season in 2017.

Fair call. If he get's a godfather offer, we may have no choice.

                              Expensive insurance. No thanks.
He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

Don't we have enough perpetually injured tall people already. I'm not convinced footy is the game for guys over about 198CM.
I wonder if Champion Data or whoever has ever looked at the games lost due to injury for players over 6'6" (198CM) versus
                                players under that height.
