    Thoughts after that game:

    1) We looked extremely gassed...aren't Thursday night games the best!? Got to love a whole five days rest...
    2) We our very young. This is a building year for sure. Thank you AFL for your trade ban...it is finally working. Way to punish a club for playing by the rules that YOU created
    3) Aliir Aliir...love his physicality but am ready to vomit every time he needs to kick the ball. Swans need to have someone nearby for him to handball to...
    4) This is where I may get killed by this forum. Especially being a yankee. But I have serious doubts about the leadership group of this team. Since the Grand Final in 2016, it seems the motto is "go along to get along". The management group seems completely vested in showing what a fantastic inclusive group this team is. And that is fine...I just wish they spent half the time they spend on winning games and demanding AFL accountability as they do representing Sydney as the country's most cosmopolitan city. The have an awesome Pride game, they call out Eddie for being an ass, they stand up for the best of us and they get wonderful exposure! Meanwhile, they let the refs consistently job the team, allow VFL...er AFL...bias predominate, and stay silent. Hawthorn's coach gets a cup of coffee with the CEO/Commish (Gil should have been dismissed on the spot!) and the Swans make a joke or two about it. Talk about an appearance of impropriety. And I don't see this culture changing anytime soon. Again, it shows the best of what people can be...but it does not produce necessary wins and the Swans continue to accept imbalance in how they are treated in the game for this public perception of the team.

All things equal, I prefer they run the team to win first.

Now, feel free to tear this Yankee a new you-know what...

If Cameron has a good week in the NEAFL I'd play him next week. A tall stay at home forward. Sinclair will be stuffed by round 8 otherwise.

Agree we are far too nice, we should have challenged the ban and should be making much more of a fuss about the dreadful umpiring. Who cares if you get fined if you get results. Has worked wonders for the Hawks. We also lack a bit of mongrel in the team, all great teams have it we are way too nice.

Biggest worry is most of our young players are going backwards.

Yep, that same problem very nearly brought us undone against a bad team last week, and against a better team this week has proved decisive.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

I would put McCartin straight back at full forward. Wasted down back.

Don't need to tear you one. Aliir I think is our most creative player after Buddy and Heeney. He is OK. Agree on Clarkson speaking with McLaughlin - a joke. Maybe Longmire should have had a beer with him the day after the 2016 Grand Final - and given him a Liverpool Kiss.

And Reid down back, wasted anywhere forward of centre

Can we also stop all the Thursday night games especially in Sydney. It was a novelty but now it messes up the draw too much and often means no Saturday afternoon game.

Really not sure where this club is at. Worse kicking team in Comp. And probably worse team. Who in their right mind would recruit Thurlow and Clarke? McInerney selection was a disaster.

They are both useless. Longmire fall on your sword and move on.

Lloyd has the defensive skills of a feather duster. How he gets top Fantasy points is beyond me. Clearly they don't deduct for turnovers. Put him in the guts and make him work for his cheque.

I'm sure the AFL are regretting their decision to give us so many crappy night games. We haven't played well at night for a while now.

Need a new style, new coach and some new blood into the recruitment ranks. We seem to recruit too many players whose skills vanish in match conditions
Totally agree. We draft players to play contested swans footy but that style has been gone now for far too long! We need to draft in elite kicks! We have basically none!

Too many players who can't hit a target. In fact they wouldn't even hit the side of a barn door based on tonight's performance. Does the team not practice kicking during the week?

                                I hate losing on a Thursday ????.

Not much I can say without repeating myself and what others have said.

It's going to be a long year...I was expecting it but I was hoping I would be wrong.
