Thankfully we have no more this year. And at this rate wont have any next year either, given how terrible we look

Too many on here too quick to condemn Allir. Under siege in the second half and thought he did well as did Rampe.

I think Thurlow will be alright in time. I didn't really understand the McInerney selection to begin with, and still scratching my head about it. Not to say the kid can't play, but was like playing with a player down tonight, just couldn't get near it.

But we haven't even really drafted players in recent years that are suited to contested swans style footy either. We've actually tried to get some players with outside run and some flair, and in theory good skills. Florent showed tonight at times the quality he has, but I fear the Swans style of footy as it currently is could turn the most skilled, elite players into a pile of mistake ridden faeces.

Unfortunately McInerney had possibly one of the worsed debut performances by a player from any club tonight! 1 disposal is almost un-heard of in modern footy! He is a far better player than that and I really hope they give him another chance next week, if for nothing else than to give him a bit of confidence as I'm sure he'll do much better 2nd time around.

Yeah I tend to agree somewhat but I guess the players we promote like Clarke (even though he missed the last 2 games), Papley and Ronke etc have shocking foot skills and our best kicks are the young kids who still are struggling at the level.

Unfortunately we probably do need to bottom out a bit to bring in a few more!

I felt sick watching this display,no tackling, inaccurate kicking, poor decisions. apart from Heeney who tried hard but no one followed

Kicking is a basic skill with no connection to game style. Pure execution of a skill. Last week we kicked very well. Tonight, especially after half time, we butchered the ball trying to play catch up.

Dont agree. Team must be picked on form.
He is in his first year so plenty of time. pick players doing
well in the 2s and drop players that are not in form so hopefully they can get some.
Ronke not up to it atm. Blakey to improve on the 2s

There have been plenty of 1 possession debuts over the years by players who have turned out to be good footballers.

Add Hewett to that pile. Gives us absolutely nothing. The great stopper has been towelled up in all 4 games.

True, but different types of game style do make good execution easier or harder to achieve as well. Our game plan does not in general promote good kicking execution, especially this year it seems. Our skills have gone backwards even on their mediocre level of last year. There are still the odd moments of 'clarity' for want of a better term, but they are few and far between at the moment.

It’s easy for everyone on here to bag the fringe players but it wasn’t them.

Parker over rated and goes missing.

Kennedy - love the man but too slow now

                            Sinclair was destroyed

Buddy can’t kick 60m anymore and doesn’t do anywhere enough for someone taking such a massive salary

Papley would be one of the worst kicks in the game.

Smith, Grundy, Mcveigh all old and injured.

Longmire has no decent coaching plan.

Interesting about Parker. Is he a player who stars when he has a good team around him, who is now unable to impose himself on a game. Leadership is sorely lacking. On Kennedy; I can't knock him because he always has a go, but his kicking has gone right off.

Some credit has to go to Melbourne. They improved as the game wore on and were much the better side after half time. However if we’d taken our chances and kicked straight I think the game would have been over by then.

Buddy’s kicks don’t travel as far as they did. Never seen so many fall short. That one when he got the handball from Parker was on line but didn’t make the distance. He must have missed at least 5 he used to kick. In the last quarter he gave one off he would normally have taken. End of an era?

Don’t understand the Aliir criticism on here. He is one of the few positives at the moment and actually takes the game on. Mostly it works and is way more effective than the default long kick down the line.

Swans are a side in transition and need to improve. I don’t know how much is how we play and how much personnel. There was a very slick passage of play in 4Q that ended in a KJack mark almost in the goal square, so we can do it.

I think a combination of pressure, and lack of targets has a hugely negative impact on our kicking. That one by Rampe down the corridor in 3Q was puzzling. Plus there are a few players in the team for their speed and/or mongrel who are shocking kicks plus Reid, McCartin and others.

I worry about the lack of quality and experience in our midfield, lack of a genuine ruckman, key forward replacement for Buddy, and our coaching panel.

Would love the club to undertake a genuine review ASAP.

When we went 0-6 in 2017 there was a sense it was an aberration. In 2019 I don’t feel that way.
