I always expected either “hot, hot, hot” or “clear, clear, clear” - took a second for a team mate to call out which was all you needed to release. But that was a long time ago and not in front of a noisy crowd. But it’s odd that so many times we were run down when they started in the clear ... and that so many of their goals resulted from turnovers

      Teach Papley to kick FFS!
That was Cunningham who tried that not Thurlow. Thurlow was the intended recipient.

So if McVeigh, Grundy, Smith were available next week, should we be playing them? Or is it “time to play the kids” already?

          It’s a basic skill.
.....and where is the talk?! You're hot!! They just never seem to have any awareness that they're HOT!

Our skills haven't improved in years, that's all down to the coaching and recruitment. When are people finally going to accept we will not win another premiership with Longmire and its time for a change. Change is risky but we are on the slippery slide to nowhere at the moment.

We are a bottom 4 side.

Outside of poor skills of course
Our style is changing. We are trying to take the game on more. It is going to take time and a lot of errors before we get better at it. We have a lot of new and young players so we need to sort out who can execute. Ronke is quick and game, but reckon his skills will never be up to it. Thurlow and Clarke were better and are still young. Dawson looked good with a touch of Malceski off half back. We can't go back to a slower style or else we'll score less points. Despite our many clangers, we still only lost by 23 points and should have got within 17 points so effort was there.

We’re better placed on the ladder than 2017. Still plenty of time

33 down at half time - lose by 22. Must be some positives surely?

You can make allowances for the mistakes that young players make but our skills are just appalling. People are dreaming if they think the current set-up is going to get us anywhere near a premiership in the next decade.

Richo sensibly crushing any talk of Buddy being traded, saying "It's just never going to happen, it's just one persons opinion and everyone has jumped on it and it's got out of hand".

                        Well said!

                          Some positives:

Florent seems to have arrived as a core player. Very accomplished tonight.

Dawson did some good stuff and seems to have a future distributing from half back.

Rowbottom is a keeper. Going to be good.

Thurlow and Clarke better tonight , not prepared to write them off yet.

                          Buddy picked up some form.

                          Rampe excellent, Cunningham pretty good.

                          Negatives

                          Poor effort tackling.

What the he'll were the players doing in the early part of the game?. It would be nice if we could kick to one of our own players.Turnover merchants.

                          Reid and Jack had mares.

McCartin little impact. Would have been better with another mid like Fox.

The next decade??? Look, we know you don't like Horse as coach but that assessment is just being silly.

                                A better second half.
                                * Ronke needs to be dropped.
                                * Buddy needs to be played up the ground more often.
                                * Rowbottom looked alright and should get a few more games. And McInerney should get a few more chances too.
                                * Didn't mind seeing Allir in the ruck for a bit there at the end.
                                * Rampe was pretty good and if Kennedy, Reid and Parker can all lift their output we might have some hope over the next month or two.
