Patrolling staff and police presence, no different last week to any other week.
Had a couple of interactions with the police myself ..... one to tuck in the clothing tags hanging out and the other to discuss the lack of rowdiness at the Sydney AFL games. His reply was, "yes its always boring at these games for us, nothing to do".
Was he calling us boring?Comment

We are. The reserved and placated manner of the SCG crowd has always driven me nuts. I wish our supporters would be more passionate and vocal at the game. I prefer watching most games at home or at the pub with a few friends for this reasonPatrolling staff and police presence, no different last week to any other week.

Agree totally with this (except not going to the game).
Having watched the Swans at pretty much every venue, it is safe to say we have the tamest and quietest fans (GWS/Suns aside).
As much as I hate them, I admire the WA crowds. So much passion, noise and hostility towards the opposition but never any fights, security issues etc.Comment

Have you watched the swans at the MCG or Marvel? If so then you haven't sat near me then ????.Agree totally with this (except not going to the game).

Agree, it’s a very polite crowd at the SCG from my limited experience there. I’ve heard some pretty vocal swans crowds at Etihad and at the G .

There are passionate and loud supporters at the SCG (such as myself) but we are diluted among the masses of less rusted-on crowd members. I usually go hoarse pretty quickly and am left with clapping and foot stomping. I love revving up the coaches as they are walking down the race at quarter and three quarter time too.All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)

I share the sentiments expressed on here re the SCG atmosphere. I always feel the most fanatical fan in my vicinity (usually first tier Noble) and almost never retain my voice. There are passionate and loud supporters at the SCG (such as myself) but we are diluted among the masses of less rusted-on crowd members.
