Yes, especially when the ball hits the ground in the forward fifty. There's always a high chance that Cameron, Rayner, Christiansen or Zorko will make their opponents pay. I'm also enjoying the work of Mitch (the angry hobbit) Robinson. Spectacular marks and goals up forward, hard ball gets in the midfield and goal saving tackles down back: what a half of football.

They certainly are great fun to watch but the Bulldogs are coming back hard at them at the moment.

C'mon Lions! Hang on and beat those Fairy Puppies!!

Missed the game, but pleased to see the result! I think they may have to be my team for the finals, in the absence of my real team.

Cats have fallen off the pace, not convinced by the Pies or the Giants..... at this point Brisbane, WC and Richmond seem to be ahead of the pack.

          PS: Annoying reminder.....Nic Newman 24 disposals, 11 marks, 3 tackles, 4 goals, 135 fantasy points.....going ok.

Dawson obviously preferred to Newman. Happy with how it's shaping.

True but imagine having both delivering long left foot bullets into the forward line. I can dream.....

Coaches votes are out Coaches' votes, R20: Superstar Dog pinches lead with the finish line in sight - AFL.com.au and this one caught my eye:

                CARLTON v WEST COAST
                6 Liam Ryan (WCE)
                5 Nicholas Newman (CARL)
                5 Jeremy McGovern (WCE)
                5 Luke Shuey (WCE)
                5 Elliot Yeo (WCE)
                4 Samuel Walsh (CARL)

That has to be about the weirdest breakdown of votes I can remember seeing. Somehow weirder than seeing lists with no overlaps (although actually that is probably the weirder scenario).

In the derby, Hopper was unanimously chosen as best afield and Heeney a unanimous second. Haynes only collected 3 votes. Florent the only other Swan to get a vote (just the solitary vote).

Newman deservedly makes this weeks AFL "Team of the Week"

Team of the Week, R20: Who makes the cut? - AFL.com.au

Just an aside.....I wish footy journo's would stop calling Jeremy Cameron "Jezza".....it annoys me no end. There is only one "Jezza" and I'm sorry, Cameron is just not in the same league and never will be. IMO, it hasn't been earned and is a slap in the face of an AFL legend. Please stop!

The original Jezza, Alex Jesaulenko, is the best player I have seen. Freak.

I disagree. The footy media use the name because his teammates do. Nobody has a monopoly on a name. Can nobody ever more be called Buddy because of Lance Franklin? I don't think so. Nor do I think it is disrespectful to the great Alex Jesaulenko and I doubt he does either.

Agreed. If I was Jeremy Laidlaw I'd be browned off completely!

Spare a thought for Jeremy Finlayson ! He has stand next to the bloke who stole HIS nickname for the entire bloody game !
And for what? peanuts, compared to what that show pony Cameron is getting paid ! Talk about adding insult to injury.

There's some very funny stuff on the footy chat sites.

Melbourne BF site has one up about delistings called "The Great Potato harvest of 2019" lamenting their reverting to a cellar dweller. I'm nervous now about next week in case this crop of potatoes beats us - yikes!
