Good idea , reckon he could take them to a GF. He does quite well with a decent list at his disposal. Cameron doesn’t seem to be any good..

Agree also, they need a grumpy old bugger like Ross.

[QUOTE=stevoswan;783603]His record as head coach at Freo does not back up that claim.....maybe he was a better assistant coach than he is a head coach.[/QUO
You could argue that he was very very unlucky NOT to win a flag at St kilda.
In 2009, If a Hawkins goal is called a point (as it should have been) and Stkilda are up by 2 goals at 3/4 time. Totally different game at that point. Even Scarletts toe tap to Ablett that resulted in Chapmans goal would have only put Geelong up by a point, and Stkilda scored a point at with less than 30 seconds to go.
Then 2010 a cruel unlucky bounce denied St Kilda a certain goal, and a certain win.

Freo players choked it up in 2013. Ross can't be held accountable for players like Ballantyne, Suban, Crowley, Pavlich & Fyfe all contributing to a half time score of 1-6-12

So ... Hardwick complains, AFL change the rule. H’mmm Longmire, time for more complaining?

I don't understand why players are taking marks with their studs out. Isn't the proper technique to raise your knee?
And in one of the Riewoldt incidents he actually kicked out which I think should be illegal.

Yes. I sort of forgot about St Kilda.....very unlucky. He could be a 2-3 times premiership coach by now I guess.

Gws would be completely mad not to ensure Ross Lyon is their new coach 2020

They already have a coach who they’d have to sack.
Ross comes with a lot of baggage.
And he said he might not want a senior coaching gig.

I actually think Brad Scott would be a better fit for GWS. His early years at North were impressive, and he'll bring a bit of mongrel to the team.

Ross has failed at Freo, and Freo are a bit like GWS.

Hang on , wasn’t it your suggestion initially ? You arguing with yourself now Baz? Or is it that people agreed with you so you had to change your mind ?

Funny. But people are allowed to change their mind I suppose. Anyway, Ross and Brad Scott are both old grumps, and would be
an improvement on Cameron who has been going backward since 2016 when GWS were very close to being the best
team in the comp. And for Lyon, he'd get to live in Sydney again after 8 years in dull old Perth.

Well I dont know Ross Lyon or Brad Scott's coaching first hand or anything, so I'm just speculating.

In fact, either would be exactly what GWS need. Someone to come in and shake the place up a bit.

I wonder if Carlton and North should have extended their coaching appointments. Would Lyons availability have swayed the result. He might have said no to them a few weeks ago.... but now. ?
