I like Hollands as a prospect, but I think we're more likely to draft a KP player at pick 3 (most likely McDonald 196cm KPF, Thilthorpe 201cm KPF/R or Grainger-Barras 194cm KPD). This draft has some decent talls rated in the top 10 and we will need to recruit a tall player after delisting two of them.

Crows poised to match Crouch offer after bid for pick No.2 falls short
Thank Mildred! We are now assured of one of Logan, Hollands or Tilthorpe. Plus Campbell and Gulden. That's good enough for me.
In future off seasons we'll be able to focus on needs and switch to trading for good players.
Why not McDonald with our pick? Don't you rate him, wrong player, or are you just not expecting that he will still be available at our pick?"Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The AFL website has listed the "fantastic five" of the open draft pool as Logan McDonald, Riley Thilthorpe, Elijah Hollands, Denver Grainger-Barras and Will Phillips (while omitting Jamarra Ugle-Hagan because he's not available in the open draft pool).
Cal Twomey ranked these six players in the top 7 of his rankings last month. The other player in his top 7 was Braeden Campbell."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Feeling very hopeful the Crows won’t get pick 2Comment

That AFL article also had some interesting speculation regarding how these standout players mean other clubs would be very keen to trade into the top 5 of the draft, and how the five clubs holding those picks would be very reluctant to part with them. I think that kills any speculation on whether we will be trading pick 3 - we won't be."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Wow, some very good news up on the AFL website as highlighted by earlier posts.
Saints have come to their senses it seems and not offering well overs for a non damaging injury prone midfield accumulator. That is great news for us and with Twomey suggesting the top five is firmed up, we shouldn't see a Campbell bid before Dodo at pick 7 plus pick 3 will land us one of the fab five.
Sunday evening couldn't be any better than this!Comment

Sorry. Logan = McDonald. He looks like the best option for us but I doubt he will still be available. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

I agree it makes for a good Sunday night.
And I am feeling so grateful to Hawthorn (!!) for soundly beating the Suns in Round 17. Could really help our rebuild for years to come. All opinions are not equal. According to Hun, Archie Smith from the Lions is exploring his options but we be re-rookied if nothing comes up. Surely he would have to be a better option than Hickey?Comment

He's never had a good run up here. Stuck behind Stef Martin and then Big O has overtaken him as well. I've seen him play a few Neafl games and also preseason matches and he's very athletic and good in the ruck contest, being a former basketballer. He's rucked alot against Dawson Simpson, Darcy Cameron and Tom Nicholls (amongst others) over the last few years in the Neafl and has beat all these guys according to a mate of mine who is a mad Lions fan. Disposal is a bit dodgy is the biggest knock on him. I would imagine our recruiters would know him well so if they don't rate him, then there clearly are things they have seen that they don't like.Comment

Hogan to GW$, must admit I am slightly disappointed.
Kane Cornes' premiership clock has us closer to a premiership than the Giants, Dockers or SunsComment
