Which seven other clubs apart from your own do you think can make this year’s top eight?

17 – West Coast Eagles, Richmond, GWS GIANTS
    16 – Collingwood
    15 – Brisbane Lions
    13 – Western Bulldogs
    10 – Port Adelaide
    8 – Geelong Cats
    5 – Melbourne
    3 – St Kilda
    2 – Hawthorn
1 – Essendon, North Melbourne, Sydney Swans
As much as I hate them, I'm slightly surprised that Hawthorn are rated so lowly. Especially with the return of Mitchell. Did they have a clean out that I missed? Also a bit surprised that the Bulldogs and Port are seen as more of a chance than Geelong.

I'm not so surprised by Hawks and Dogs. Hawks have an aging list boosted by some rebuilt players/players on their second chance, although the return of Titch and the arrival of Patton ought to help. Dogs have a terrifically talented list and are coming into their prime. I don't have a read on Port. Picking teams from 7th down is really hard. I think Geelong *probably* will play finals but I don't see them as flag contenders. Melbourne also tough to judge after going from 2018 to 2019. I'm pleased that at least one opponent rates us as finals worthy. Hopefully not the same guy who tipped Bayley Fritsch to win the Coleman medal.

Yet amongst the games elite a week ago, he looked perfectly at home and played a blinder.....go figure.

It was an exhibition game of bruise free football played at 3 quarter pace, hardly a big game with high intensity

You keep saying that and while there's some truth to it, all I'm saying is that among the games elite.....he looked very comfortable.......like he belonged. We'll keep an eye on his under pressure game and revisit this later in the season. Hell, even the best @@@@ themselves at times.....

According to this Foxsports Analysis AFL 2020: AFL spine rater, every club’s key players ranked, Champion Data player ratings, SuperCoach rankings | Fox Sports which ranked the 5 spines players of every team (FB, CHB, C, CHF, FF), we are actually numbered one!!

Mostly I just think this shows how little value to attach to these ratings. However, both Rampe and Aliir have outstanding ratings as defenders according to Champion data. Unfortunately the front half of our 'spine' is currently missing.

While it’s refreshing to read something that shows some depth of knowledge of the list, the author’s previous article suggests Patton will win the Coleman. So make of it what you will...

He also suggests Knoll was our best ruckman ..? Could be right I suppose but not sure you can make that call at this stage

Read the article and liked the sentiment, but pretty sure he is as clueless as a lot of the other scribes.

Co-captain Kennedy singing a slightly different tune compared to Parker: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/afl/big...11-p548yu.html. He talks about the aim being to finish top 4 "as it is any year" but really the focus at the moment is just on "getting better".

Yes, while I'm quite bullish about Knoll becoming a decent AFL standard ruckman, there's no real evidence to suggest that he's our best ruckman.
