In hindsight yes......but I think the club actually had some foresight on this, with his bitter and twisted Daddy in the wings. We may well have developed him nicely, only to have him slink back home into Daddy's arms when his value rose.
On the other hand, we could have played hardball and forced Daddy to attend some Swans games to watch his son play in the hope he'd fall in love with our club again....but I wouldn't have been holding my breath on that possibility and I don't think the club were prepared to either.....
The problem lies with a bitter and beligerant former player.....which has deprived us of a very decent player.......unfortunately. He probably thinks the 2016 GF was fairly umpired......not my favourite former Swan by a long way.

Good players but all one paced. Need two of the 5 to have speed. Florent and Stephens?

Don't forget to leave out Florent and Dawson from your dream. Granted, Mitchell and Dunkley are stars, but we did get some fair compo in return.

A fit Buddy and Tippett? That dream is lingering on a very long time. Don't wake up too soon. You'll find almost everything has changed, except at Essendon.

It's a good dream that unfortunately never happened! Especially the fit Buddy / Tippett combo. Don't get me wrong though, pretty happy with how our midfield is shaping up.

I saw a recent photo of Tippett just the other day - looking pretty fit .... I guess doing lots of surfing and not having his head bashed into the ground by Mummy helps with that.

If we'd drafted Dunkley we wouldn't have Dawson as his pick would have been part of the points for Dunkley. Mitchell is basically a straight swap for Florent.

Agree on O'Riordan. He only had 4 stats but the North forwards were ordinary. Brown kicked 3 and the rest 5, so someone did a good shut down job down back, and Lloyd looked to play a lot on the ball.

Are we prepared for losing JPK in a year or two? Hewett? We haven't quite found a Reg replacement yet!

Doesn't look like they'll risk either Naismith or Brand this week with the short turnaround. So I expect only 1 change with McInerney coming in for McCartin (concussion).

It's a shame because in his playing days he was definitely one of my favourite players. Just don't get why he is so disgruntled. Unless there is something we don't know about, it's quite perplexing.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

Is his disgruntled-ness a little overblown. I though Dunkley Jnr was ok to come to the swans, even if he had a preference for staying in Melbourne.

There is just something comforting about having an irishman in your back half that I like.

Thanks 707 - worth copying that statement for future reference/use.

I am not so worried about JPK, with the continued emergence of Paddlebutt.

Not so sure about a Reg replacement yet - will be intrigued how our backline goes against the better teams when we run into them.

We are coasting atm with our mids and my concern is our backs not getting enough ball apart from Lloyd to help them out
What normally happens is our mids have a game where they get well beaten and then everyone talks about us being slow and over the hill, when in actual fact it is our stagnant defence not giving them a chance
