    Things we learned
    Hayward isnt a fwd.
    Mills and Dawson arent backman
Heeney needs to be 50 50 Mid Fwd We are poor tacklers
    Hewett needs to run free
Our mids coach needs to come up with some new material so the opposition dont walk out of stoppages
Naismith never taps to space only to Parker who has 3 blokes hanging off him
We have way too many doing not enough

Fox and Harry are backups and stop gaps, dont know why we persist when we should be playing others

Mills to the mids, finally. Let’s hope it’s permanent and they bring in Gould to replace him.
McInerney I thought was not overawed unlike so many of the Swans. And did good things when he had the ball.
Rowbottom I thought was beating his opponent all over the ground. Felt it was something of a breakout.
Naismith I thought went well in his second game in 2.5 years.
      Hewett is all class.
I enjoyed watching Hayward bearing Josh Bruce in defence. He’s quick and courageous. And more effective than he has been further forward.
Sinkers really lifted / went beserk in the 3rd quarter, he’s all heart even if not the best ruckman or fwd. what happened to that shot that fell short?

      Those that under performed:

      Ronke
      Taylor
Fox a couple of times bumped when he should have tackled. I reckon our worst.

I’m not sure what to do about Blakey and Maclean. It’s not as if they could play in the NEAFL. And I reckon Blakey will come good in an extraordinary way.

Certainly a shame they couldn't have done more for Joey but I think the passing of his beloved pop means much more on this particular day.

Bemused at the number of infrequent posters who only come on to bag the players and call for mass changes. Similar to Geelong last week, we got off to a terrible start but came home pretty well against a pretty good team. We won last week against an underrated team and are 2 and 2. 5 day break not ideal andwe are a developing young side. Patience required.

I had a prior commitment so I have just finishing watching the recording which is great as you’re able to fast forward through the inane and Viccentric fawning commentary especially when a Bulldogs player is lining up for a set shot. I suspect I have a slight bias however the number of dubious decisions that seemed to have been awarded was hard to overlook I haven’t checked the statistics but I suspect that the fairy puppy’s had a free kick count of 2 to 1. If I am wrong I apologise in advance to the one eyed biased umpires. ????
Lots of poor decisions under pressure by the Swans which could put down to either the youth of our team or the pressure from the Bullflogs combined with poor goal kicking didn’t give us much of a shot of a victory. The number of scoring shots wasn’t too far apart so it wasn’t A matter of opportunities more execution.
To be honest I must say it’s very lucky that Carlton weren’t successful with their poaching attempt or we could have had an even more embarrassing result tonight.
I hate Thursday night losses it’s so long until the opportunity for redemption arises I stay grumpy for so much longer ????

Just checked the stats and hard to believe however the total was only 16 to 13 the way of the fairy puppies their certainly must’ve been some leveling up towards the end as it looked like 9-3 against after the first quarter
So as such my apologies to the dirty cheating scum maggot b...... umpires

We are a young side, we are incosistent, we have a lot of work to do - sure. But no future and cellar dwellers for many years to go. Pull the other one.

Blakey is a second year player going through second year blues..... lets see how he has got on in a decade's time.

Rowbottom is going to be a star. As for Blakey - I have no worries about him. Happens so often to excellent players in the making that they have 2nd year yips. He still hasn't got the frame to really compete physically yet. We just need patience with him.

And yes please to Mills to the mids. I just don't buy him in the backline, and have always felt he looks like a square peg in a round hole down there.

worst performance for a long time.mcinerney was good, hewett wasted as a tagger, hayward surprising down back, agree naismith should vary his targets. let down by taylor, fox, blakey and the slow lumbering allir.

I think it is worth bearing in mind the absentees and youth of the side.

It’s hard not to expect we might be competitive after winning so convincingly last week, but I do think it will take a miracle (or return of some genuine key forwards) for us to make the 8 this year.

Inside 50s were 42 each. Clearances 27-31. Contested possessions 105-129.

I hope they can find a way to get games into players like Gould, Stephens, Ling, Taylor etc whilst being competitive.

That was when I resigned myself to the fact that the comeback wasn't going to succeed. Could have given us 2 or 3 holding the ball decisions, directly in front, in the minute or so before Bontempelli got that decision, but strangely, there wasn't a whistle to be heard. I think for one of them, even Bruce thought that his Bont was in trouble.

What like 18 months since that horrendous semi final performance.

First half sounds horrible, but decent kicking in the 3rd and we would of been right in the contest. We are just wildly inconsistent at the moment, that's all.

Free kick count was 8-2 in the first, but it evened up late.

Players I want to see in the firsts sooner rather than later :

                                Ling
                                Stephens
                                Gould
                                E Taylor

                                Players that shouldn’t play again
                                Ronke
                                Fox

I also think Cunningham Hayward are just stagnant players and unlikely to be part of the future. They fit in a large group of players we have who could all occupy positions 19-22 when the top 18 are excellent but we have developing players and I’m not sure they are really up to it. In a finals team Cunningham would be fine but I fear he holds out another player in a developing team who suffers As a result.

Mills into the midfield was the highlight o the night. Hopefully that persists.

We also really need to fix the ruck going forward. Neither Sam nor sincs will play in our next premiership. We need a good young ruckman to develop with the team.
