Not sure about Andrew's characterisation of Elijah as a 'small forward'. At 187cm, he's taller than Parker, Heeney, and Hayward.

I'm excited about ET playing and seeing the number 37 back in action. I'd love to see a resurgence of cheering at 7th minute in the 3rd quarter of every home game. It would be a great way to continue to honour one of our former greats. A bit challenging in our current climate though.

As was the case with Haywood before whatever happened, happened.
Very excited to see yet another debut though, and last weeks getting a second game.

You're right, Meg. The team announcement video is a ripper!

We're struggling with injuries and form but a strong bond between players and coaches is obvious to see!

              Go Cygnets!!

The Sydney Swans will blood a third debutant of the season with exciting young forward Elijah Taylor to play against Gold Coast at the SCG on Saturday afternoon.

I believe, happy to be corrected if i am not, that during his draft year he had two beers at a party and got a label.

Look, he wasn't a professional sportsman at the time, big deal.

Since he has been at the club, he has been all business and put his head down and work his ass off.

                Good for him.

I like his size and mobility, will be great to watch this weekend.

Sounds like a bargain if that's the case!

Nice to see another debutant in Elijah.

I'm a bit surprised that McLean has been dropped but happy enough to have Sinclair back.

Overall - fairly happy with the team.

Can't see a win on Saturday but hoping to see the development of our young players.

I doubt Reid is ready therefore not picked. But you are on the money. Sinclair and McCartin. Sad that McClean is going out I thought his value as resting ruck was good. Not as first ruck as he is not quite tall enough. But as that huge marking target he does get the ball to ground and give us a go.

Looks like Fox as second ruck. I am not very happy with that situation. Aliir is back. They have stuck to the story he was dropped to regain form. Strange way to regain form, not playing. Worst decision in Horse's career and he's made some monumental blunders like playing underdone players in grand finals.

Love the inclusion of Elijiah Taylor. He will bring some real zip and excitement.

There are several players who should be on notice. Harry was poor yet again last week. O'Riordan the same. I thought Blakey had a better game but does not do the team thing enough. Twice he cost us last week because he chose to go on his own rather than give off. Hayward has had a life line down back and is taking full advantage. Ryan Clarke should also be on notice. He gets to the ball often enough but often fumbles, makes bad decisions or has terrible disposal. Sad because as I say he gets his head over the ball and does all the hard work but undoes it all by skill errors or errors of judgement. Last week he had the chance to with kick upfield to a one on one or give to a player surrounded by Teiers players. He chose the latter in a nervous moment.

I think the team has better balance this week. Last week playing no talks was just stupid. I know we had many talks injured but pulling Aliir, ignoring Gould and Maibaum was a big factor in why we could not get the ball out. Because we had no structure. Small players are not taught to structure up like the big blokes because they do not play jep positions.

Hyperbole much? It’s a pretty good career if this is the worst decision. He dropped Aliir who was clearly out of form and replaced him with Fox who was one of only two Swans to receive votes from the coaches for his defensive job on Tom Lynch.

I didn’t agree with the dropping of AA at the time but give some credit when it is there - Aliir being replaced by Fox was a win on the day.

Bull@@@@. Is in his second season not first. Does not need a rest. Take him out of the mids with no Joey and we have problems. He is playing anyway.

I'm slightly surprised Aliir is returning so soon given he was dropped due to poor form. How can he have turned it around so fast?

Not surprised to see the return of McCartin, or Sinclair. Still a very small forward line. A bit rough on McCartin to expect him to play the role of KPF on his own. I wonder what role Blakey will play.
I think it might have been a little bit expected. He kicked 4 sausages last week against Dees reserves. He was named BOG. So if they did not play him in the current circumstances you would have to question the sanity of the selection committee. Mind you I already question the sanity of the selection committee.
