    Swans chat The new #37

Mentioned this in the R7 changes thread, but it got a bit lost under other discussion. And perhaps deserves its own thread.

No 37 returns to the SCG

      It's a fantastic picture!

I'll happily settle for him being half as good as the guy who had that number before him!

Which works out as, one Brownlow, two All-Australian selections and a Skilton Medal or two.

I wonder how ET felt about getting 37. Huge honour, big shoes to fill.

Yes a huge honour but I would suggest a decision carefully made. All the best Elijah, give it your best and leave nothing on the ground. This can be the start of a long and successful journey.

I'm happy that the coaching staff like Stevie J have instructed him to go out & play with his natural instincts.

In depth piece about ET’s AFL pedigree, how he slipped to the Swans and how the 37 reflects how highly he’s regarded.

Taylor looks to light up SCG

Also says this weeks side is 6 months younger and 273 games less experienced than last week’s, which was already the youngest by a significant amount.

Great piece. They should have given the author a byline.

This caught my attention: "..Taylor, the oldest of five siblings...". ????

And Australian of the Year for 6 months! Hope we're not expecting too much of the fella...

                      Lovely pic, thanks for sharing.

Didn't realise he was a Narkle - they are indeed football royalty; used to watch Keith and Phil run out for the Swans (Districts) vs my beloved Tigers and they were fabulous players.

Yes, it was well written and informative.

Though I possibly wouldn't get too excited at the prospect of any siblings coming our way. I've a vague recall that there was a quirk in the academy system, that meant that Fremantle couldn't claim Taylor, but now that has been amended, so the WA clubs can claim any indigenous kids from their zones. Or something like that?

I liked the backyard practice that he used to do. It seemed a bit Bradmanesque.

It would have been nice to see Goodes give him the jumper.

Edit: Buddy handed over the jumper ????.
