Don't know where to put this, but Wayne Carey has had a go at Clarko about his comments on Papley on the weekend, calling him a hypocrite.
AFL 2020: Alastair Clarkson, Wayne Carey, Tom Papley, free kicks, Hawthorn, Sydney Swans, comments, hypocrite

Excellent run and goal from Papley, with the added bonus that Taylor got lay a shepherd into Stratton.
        Eventually !!

I don't recall seeing this, but there is some news out of the club today. Barry O’Connor and Sam Wicks elevated.

They did announce that a week or two ago. Not sure why they're announcing it again?

OK forumites, tell me a bit about these two and will they realistically get a game or two ?

Have Mclean and Bell been elevated or don't they need to be. Both have now played in the ones

Fantastic to see a win... at the SCG... in the rain.
                  Ramps is a warrior.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.

I'll try, but I will only be going on second hand info and for Wicks, the last couple of NEAFL seasons.

O'Connor is supposed to be very athletic and is key position size. In the scratch matches, he's been named as among the best on ground a few times. That was playing as a defender. He's also been tried as a fill in for our depleted ruck stocks, with less success: which is understandable. Still, he seems an excellent prospect.

Wicks started out as a toppie, largely playing as a small forward. He showed enough to be promoted to the rookie list: flashes of pace and skill, and plenty of pressure acts. Last season, due to our extensive injury list, both him and Bell spent a lot time as inside mids, battling hard against larger, more experienced, AFL ready opponents. Like Bell, this seems to have helped him develop some genuine toughness. He's also something of a tackling machine, who topped our NEAFL tackle count in almost every game last season. If promoted, it will probably be as a small forward, with the occasional stint around the ball. He probably won't dazzle with his skills, or kick a bag; but he will apply plenty of pressure and stick a few tackles, and maybe crumb a goal or two.

Good summary devavoodoo. I concur. If played in his rightful small forward role he could be quite useful.
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

                        Nice write-up of Florent's contribution:

"Florent ready to lead as well as flourish

He might have only turned 22 years old this week, but Oliver Florent is suddenly one of the elder statesman of an injury-hit Swans midfield that battled some renowned onballers at the SCG on Saturday. With the Hawks on the charge late in the game, the pressure was on and the surface was slippery, but Florent was one of the key Swans to step up, win hard balls and use it well. Florent had nine touches in the final quarter, six of them contested, as he played a crucial role in his young side getting over the line by seven points against a much more experienced outfit."

Eight things we learned: Port Adelaide might not be the AFL's best side

I think only Category B Rookies need to be elevated to be able to play.

Scumthorn's coach the graceless Clarko was on AFL360 tonight, wonder if anyone saw it and can report on what he said about his disgraceful post match presser comments

I too was very pleased to see that. Given that there's been some differing views expressed on RWO as to Florent's value to the side, it might be worth pointing out that this isn't the first time that Ollie has been singled out for praise in 'Eight things we learnt'. The current piece is authored by Martin Pegan; I don't remember seeing mention made on RWO of a piece about a month ago, this one by Michael Rogers - see Eight things we learnt: 6. Florent can't fly under the radar much longer - June 22.
