Yes the improvement in Robbie Fox has been great this year. Rampe and Lylod were fantastic down back and Ling was serviceable in his 1st game. Papley is elite, second only to Toby Greene as a forward. Like the way Elijah Taylor moves. Still mystified why we would recruited Lewis Taylor and Sam Gray, both very poor again.

That's the template for the rest of the year, keep playing kids unless they need a rest.

I'm not fussed if we win if we're playing for the future with kids. I am fussed we get a high draft pick before the Campbell bid.

Hawthorn are in a world of pain with that list, a lot of best 22 close to retiring, not much talent amongst their kids and no longer a destination club for FA, very happy with all that :-)

Reviewing the game, I thought Clark was a weak link. Not sure where he fits in the side, his kicks are ill directed, he doesn't have a sense of play on and tends to go back to kick, and slows the side down. Gray did some good things but is still off the pace. Sqizzy Taylor's contribution was far better. Kudos to Rampe for a game full of grit and leadership and Lloyd played a much more attacking game at last. And Parker was a standout and you would notice his kicking to position was great. Our young Bloods Rowbottom, Florent, Taylor the Young, Ling, Bell, McCartin, Stephens, Blakey were all positive contributors. Papley is playing with so much passion. And wasn't it great to have Reid back in side. But I started to worry when Horse put Reid down back in the last minutes. Sinclair and Allir held their own against McEvoy. Great confidence builder for the Bloods

Can anyone post an update about Rampe?

Just seen now on Fox Footy Clarkson also having a dig at Tom Papley suggesting he milks free kicks when asked about that free kick Papley received after kicking goal from Frawley hit. Horse was told about Clarkson's comment in his presser & he was clearly angry shaking his head and holding back his rage, finally saying Coaches shouldn't comment on other team's players.

IMO Clarkson should be fined by the AFL because his comments about today's free kick count & Papley is a definite dig at the umpiring integrity & trying to get them to focus on Papley's game. He did the same with Rampre few years ago. He is more of a master sook than coach!!!

At half time we were way down on contested possessions but by the end of the game only down 10. I thought this pretty much won the game for us. We were much harder at it in the 2nd half led by Parker, Rowbottom and Clarke. His disposal needs a fair bit of work but he won a lot of hard ball gets in the 2nd half. Rowbottom was getting to so many contests and frankly was the only one who looked like getting a centre clearance. If we lost that game it would have been purely off centre clearance work. When they showed the set ups from down the ground we were always behind our opponents. If we are in front we get the first go at the footy. And we started to run to space. How good was it when the backs cleared it to a player on wing the miles on their own.

Much better game by Cunningham, Florent and Blakey. How did he drop that sitter in the last minute. We would have iced the game at that point.
Reid and McCartin gave us some structure.
Mills on the ball was a quiet achiever.
Just got to keep playing the boys. Ling was cool under pressure in that last quarter.
How do we replace Rampe and Lloyd was outstanding. These guys read the ball coming in so well and position themselves so well.

Yep, and he has sooked about our defensive tactics in the past. I reckon he thinks if he whinges he will get a better go next week.

I thought Lyon was a huge improvement over BT and Bruce last week.

Parker, Papley, Rampe, Rowbottom etc all deserve ple plaudits they received.
But I thought James Bell was a bit of an Unsung hero of the game. He brought great presence and hardness to a team of lightweight Cygnets that could have been brushed away. Leadership from a 3rd gamer.

Burgoyne's tackle on Rowbottom is likely to be scrutinised by the MRO. Jordan Lewis & Brad Johnson reckons he'll get off because it wasn't a sling motion like his tackle on Dangefield a month ago. Tom Morris corrected them saying it's nothing to do whether if it was a sling tackle but rather if it was a dangerous tackle, after recent changes to wording of rule directly after that Burgoyne/Dangerfield incident.

Agree with all you say, but especially on Bell. He's a strong customer and uses his body well.
I've been watching him since he played seconds, when at the SCG usually immediately in front of his family. I'm chuffed to see him growing into a fine midman.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

As others have said he is a sook. He should be having a go at Frawley for his action.

And how can he, the coach of the Hawks complain about umpiring? The count should have been higher if they paid all the throws.

He rarely gives us credit when we beat them.

I just hate everything about the Hawks and I love beating them ????.

Oppo coaches commenting on the Swans and Horse responding is fast becoming one of my favourite aspects of following this team.

Great win! Also great to see Mills played in the midfield.

I liked Reid back a lot. Really straightened us up.

Rampe, Papley and Lloyd were fantastic and our best. Rowbottom and Florent very good games for young players.

Robbie Fox and Harry Cunningham are quickly becoming excellent long term options down back. Love them both.

Finally our young players have experienced how rewarding hard work can get you. It will be extremely useful in some more challenges before they mature! As fans, a very enjoyable game.
