Match Thread Match Thread. Round 9 v St Kilda.

Perfect weather for football. A moderate breeze blowing across the ground, that shouldn't really favour either end. Should be around 20 degrees at kickoff, getting down to around 16-17 by fulltime.

Reckon there's a pretty good chance of an upset. Go the Swans.

    No late changes

Final interchange - Rowbottom, Ling, Gray, Bell

Stumped why we don't have Rowbottom starting on the field more often if he is now part of that core midfield group in JPK and George's absence.

I think the Lizard will turn it on today. Don't see an obvious match up for him in the Saints defenders

Rampe has just run out with the rest of the squad, so I now I fully believe that he's playing. Should be even easier to spot than usual. He's the one with the whacking great, white glove on his right hand. I assume that he's allowed to wear it during the game?

On a bit of a tangent. Rampe's protective gear, reminded of an episode of America's Game, that I saw a while back, that featured the super bowl winning Oakland Raiders side of the late 70s. The linebackers used to regularly play with their forearms in plaster casts. Not because they were bravely playing through injury. No; they were plastered up, because it enabled them to inflict more damage on opposing offences. That defence had some genuinely psychotic individuals, who liked to inflict damage. Strange but true.

Mills warming up with the mids: which pleases me. Just spied Stevic: which I find less pleasing.

Good goal by Papley, but I fear it may be boys v men today.
