People on here can paint it anyway they want, we stuffed that up. Pick 32 is a disgraceful return. I know he was out of contract but surely we need to be craftier at the trade table, or keep our talent.

There was an article about Jones today, which said: "The Saints unleashing him as an onballer is a long time coming, after he thrived in the first six rounds last year as a Swan in a similar role before reverting to playing wing and defence."
Why just the first six rounds last year?Comment

Did his hammy v Brisbane and wasn't fully fit.for most of the year. Was often injured. There was an article about Jones today, which said: "The Saints unleashing him as an onballer is a long time coming, after he thrived in the first six rounds last year as a Swan in a similar role before reverting to playing wing and defence."

Awful last quarter, but that will happen during the growing pains period. We desperately need to improve our goal kicking though - a lot of those misses today were eminently kickable ones."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

Used up all the fuel in Q3 trying to get back into the game. Massive quarter for no reward. A deflated effort in the last. It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

I agree it was a dismal trade. Considering he was a first round draft pick who was coming into his prime after years of development.
Still I don't think we had a lot of choice. And maybe we felt we owed him, and possibly even the Saints after they took Banners salary off our books. All opinions are not equal. Jones was very good. But he had alot of helpers, unlike when he played for us. Ultimately footy is a team sport and a player will always look better when his team is on top.Comment

Mine too. It happened a lot today. Yet a player gathers the ball and is tackled straight away with no chance of getting rid of it and it's paid a free. The adjudication has been ruined since Clarko's whinge.Comment

Yep. Just watch the usual suspects see everything out of unrealistic rose coloured glasses.

Are we really a 'rabble' though? Hot and cold - sure. Not so good some (arguably more often than not) weeks - sure. But a rabble - I don't buy it. We've been smashed by injuries this year, we are running around with one of the most inexperienced teams in the league, yet we are consistently proving, at least for portions of matches, to be highly competitive against most teams we are meeting. On another day, with some better kicking in front of goals, we would of been right in that game today at 3/4 time. It was not a bad performance - we run out of legs in the last sure and they took full advantage, and we wasted opportunities as we have for much of the season.
The Crows are a rabble.... we are a below average team, partially as a result of where we are in the development stages, partially due to injuries, and partially due to other factors. But we are on the right trajectory more broadly."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

The same people complaining about Jones being misused at Sydney are the same who asked for him to be dropped for shocking disposal when he was with us. I didn’t want to trade him either but when you’re out of contract and want to go home to Victoria you get what you want.Comment
