Disappointing on one level, but encouraging on another. Can't wait to get our full team back.

And I'd be happy to see the Lions get the flag. Or Port. But not Richmond.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

Both of them should be classy and skilful players for many years, physiques permitting.
It was 10-9 in our favour for the game, but McInerney for them got 2 centre clearance kicks that got them direct goals. I think that is when Reid went into the centre. Allir had a top game. I think most of their centre clearances came late.

Our last quarters are a bit of a worry, but I guess that comes with experience. For what its worth I thought the bounce of the ball never went our way in the last quarter. Solid effort so next year is looking good.

Coleman got the better of a killer bounce that pretty much put us out of business.

I don’t mind Bell. He’s all effort. But I do query: exactly what is he?

He’s not a small forward, as he lacks the speed, or skills, or instincts to be a goal kicker or real pressure player.

He’s not a mid, as he will never find enough of the ball.

            I worry he’s a bit in between.

Couldn't have put it better myself. Is the phrase; he is an enigma.

Jury is still out on Blakey, McInerney, Bell & Wicks for mine. At times they look classy. At times they look rubbish. I hope the good will overcome the bad in time.

Love what Cunners has brought to our back six and Parker as always an exemplary leader. Badly lacking a forward target. Sammy Reid needs help.

I'm a big believer in J-Mac. Blakey has been getting pretty solid clearance numbers (5 today) and thought his two passes inside 50 for 2 goals were probably our best of the day.

How about the Neale interview after the game when it was put to him that he struggled against Clark. He said he played a different role tonight. Bull dust he got beaten fair and square. Just accept you got beaten on the night and show some humility.

Our centre clearances hardly ever seem clean or deep

Bell is actually one of our quickest players. When he plays, the tracker often has him as one of the top 5 fastest on the ground. More often though, it has him in the top 5 for distance covered and for total sprints. Which is something that is not really apparent, when we watch a game live on TV. But when I've watched games on replay, his gut running really impressed me. He also uses his pace well, to put pressure on the opposition. That speed helps him to hit hard in a tackle.

My only knock is that sometimes his ball use can be a bit erratic. But he is a late convert to the game, so I can see that improving with experience. If that does improve, I can see him becoming a very good, combative inside and outside midfielder.

Was his role decoy? Teaser pony?

TBF, the jury is out on pretty much every young player we have in the team with you TB - not that there is anything wrong with that

Blakey showed his very best and worst tonight. The cute kicks works well when they work, but they can look awful when they don't. I love his spearing efforts when he kicks through the ball like he did with the two in the second half. I don't doubt he will make it.

Bell and Wicks, while I like their endeavour I'm not so convinced. But willing to give them time to see what they can do.

Reid has had a disappointing year. We've needed a lot more. Very fumbly.

Yes. No decent tall. Reid had been super disappointing. Hayward has been pretty good, but is more a third tall. Papley has tried too hard the last 6 weeks. Wicks found himself up the ground a bit today. Lewis Taylor's injury didn't help.

Even with Buddy back, we're need more. Daniher plus a draftee (e.g. Thilthorpe).

Plenty of positives tonight. We were a very young team, played a man down and got within 2 points of a premiership favourite.

Stephens is a jet, Melican is starting to show something and McInerney is classy. Lots also to be excited about with Blakey and McCartin too.

Nice to see Mills and Hayward play well.
