1/3 skill
1/3 physical
1/3 attitude
This was paul roos basic formula for determining who is a blood or not. Obviously there are many other layers to these 3 major areas ie past injuries, past actions to redeem lazy habits etc
It appears our recruitment strategy with ET went overweight on the skill and underweight on the attitude to justify the selection.
Now we are missing a pick36 player within the first season joining the bloods

There are not many picked after Elijah who I feel we missed out on. Keidan Coleman was a Brisbane prior access, Jake Riccardi (?) was never in our sight, and Minario Frederick are the only later picks who have shown much. I'm proud of the club for trying to support and develop a young man with some difficulties. It didn't pay off, but it was a sensible gamble.Comment

Cherub agree with the sentiment
but equally there can be a lot of players on the list 36 and beyond that peak in yr2, yr 3 and yr 4 of development
From memory half our list is in this category
My gut feeling is that this wont be treated as a one off and we will build further integrity into our recruitment system
i would expect nothing less every single season that we review how we make decisions and when they worked and when they didnt"be tough, only when it gets tough"

From my perspective, the cancel culture related not to this crime, which is abhorrent, but to the hypocrisy and shutting down of reasoned debate. It is ok to discuss what should happen to Taylor. It is ok to have different opinions. It is ok to raise apparent double standards. It is plausible the club could have suspended him for a year. Taylor will do time, be sanctioned by the community and then he should be given the opportunity to lead a normal life. What sort of society ostracises people for life with no chance for recovery? What sort of people stand at the head of the pack with stones in their hands. And no, I am not defending Elijah' actions. I just think it is important to see all opinions and let voices be heard. I don't understand why this thread would he locked out shut down.Comment

Poor ET. He can't get a speaking engagement at any major university in Australia. And for what? Just because he has an unpopular opinion about beating up women?
Poor Martin Bryant. He got 35 life sentences + 1035 years without a chance of parole. What kind of society do we have here in Australia? One bad day at the office and you're screwed for life.He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.Comment

Perth Magistrates Court was told today the bashing started after the woman, Lekahni Pearce, saw a snapchat message on Taylor's phone and started hitting him when he was asleep.
$5,000 and a spent conviction. A far lesser penalty than what he was dealt by the Swans. The Covid breach she dropped in to tell him she had a miscarriage.
Looks like the gf initiated the two strikes against ET.Comment

I see that Taylor's lawyer chastised the Swans for leaving Taylor to fend for himself in Perth when he was suspended. A lot of us on here felt the same. Maybe if the Swans had taken him to Queensland all of this could have been avoided.
I wonder what was in that snapshot message.
Why do people have Snapshot, Instagram, Facebook, etc.? The worst idea since the automobile.Comment
