Yes we did have a streaker wearing Crows jumper in 2012 GF. It was during the last quarter and the game stopped for several minutes while security got him off.

We had subbed Mumford off at three quarter time so Mike Pyke rucked the whole last quarter without relief. I subsequently read Mike being quoted as saying words to the effect that he has never been so grateful in his life as he was to that streaker. He said he was absolutely exhausted and the several minutes the game was stopped allowed him to regain his breath. [emoji3]

right now is basically a midget. What about Glen Boss, who rode his 4th Cox Plate winner yesterday? These guys are

It's why you don't trade pick 3. In 2013 Melbourne gave up pick 2 to GWS who got Kelly, Melbourne got Salem & Dom Tyson - ouch!

I agree completely and don’t use their platforms of any description I was more trying to draw attention to Adam being featured in the advertising. I haven’t seen that many campaigns featuring him.

Yeah, he hasn't done a lot of ads really. There was Powerade or one of those silly "sports" drinks for a while, and
"ambassador" gigs with David Jones and Qantas are all I can think of.

The night Grand Final to me was a fizzer. Not the game, but 29000 attendance and the waiting around all day to watch it. It seemed like any old game to 3 of us who watched it together. Almost an anti climax. The 2 bogans that went onto the ground were likely drunk and drinking all day. It has always been a concern of many people in Melbourne that idiots will spend the day at the pub and get into fights at the game.

No night grand final regardless of where it is played.

                  ‘These guys are everywhere’.

And girls/women - though ‘the little mistress’ doesn’t quite convey the same admiration does it?

                  Couple of Aussie examples:

                  Ashleigh Barty (who presented the GF cup last night) 1.66m currently ranked women’s tennis world number 1;

Emma Snowsill only 1.61m and 48kg, triathlete winner of Olympic and Commonwealth gold medals and three world titles. Actually Emma was referred to as ‘the pocket rocket’.

The "Clayton's" grand final. Just a bit dull really.

Yes, agreed. The AFL under McLachlan seems determined to tinker in pursuit of revenue, but only succeeds in cheapening the game.

I was surprised and very relieved to hear him acknowledge that 16 minute quarters are too short. I'd love to see it go back to 20 minute quarters, but am sure he'll hedge for the sake of doing something different.

Does anyone else call Ablett 'the little master'? I think it's a Bruceism. He tends to bestow affection on his favourite players, unprofessionally.

I lost interest when neither Port or Brisbane were in the grand final and didn't bother watching the game.
Now the media will be going on about dynasties, and whilst I acknowledge that Richmond have done extremely well with their 3 premierships, I rate this team third with the recent "dynasties" behind Brisbane first and Hawthorn.

Why did we go back to 20 minute quarters once the finals were weekly?
The whole idea of 16 minutes quarters was to allow multiple games per week, and once that wasnt required anymore..

The AFL needs to full review.

Tigers will always be tough to beat in the big games. They just play like a plague of locus, numbers everywhere there is a contest, overwhelming their opposition. Lynch and Reiwoldt were largely irrelevant but it didn't matter - they destroyed the cats with their intensity and run. That's why we have to use pick 3 to snare ourselves a potential elite midfielder. The day of winning a flag off the back of a KPF is over.

So true, Barry. They swarm like a team, defend like a team and attack like a team. Their pressure is extreme as they always have an extra player wherever the ball is. How do they do it? It often looks like they have at least one extra player on the field. I think the challenge for Horse and his fellow coaches is to watch Richmond’s games and learn. Of course it takes experience and we have a lot of young and raw players but if memory serves me correctly, Richmond developed this strategy from one year to the next. One other point: Richmond players are super fit and don’t seem to have many injuries. Is this just luck or good management?
