Now that Eddie's out of a job, I was thinking of hiring him to play the lead role in the next of my biographical movies on American presidents, called:

I think there's a strong resemblance between Eddie and Donald in nearly all respects - physical appearance, attitude, self-esteem, self-indulgence, ignorance, and on and on.

We wouldn't need a film director: "Just be yourself, Eddie."
We wouldn't need a script: "Just say whatever comes into you head, Eddie."

And Donald can stop running for President of the United States again. He can just take over for Eddie as President of Collingwood, in a like for like replacement.

I can see the Collingwood job ad now:

He was no longer wanted 20 years ago. Once a hundred people were pushing him out the door, his awareness finally kicked in.

Eddie HAS resigned....and his first words were to make it all about him. "I try.....I always try."

As soon as he made that comment that Adam Goodes should take the role of King Kong, he lost me for good. NO one in the TV /Radio industry would ever survive such a racist comment. I am glad that he has been punished for showing his true colours. Listen to what I say, not what I do.

You have no idea what joy it brings me to see the Woods having to cop it sweet! Since 1946 In the school yard I have to put up with pie supporters tell me the pies could do no wrong, then later in life I really had to put up with the Bull$%#@ of how bad was South. Trump II, good riddance to both. Maybe now the AFL can stop having McChins on every working party "representing" clubs views, which as we know was just Collingwood's views.

I suppose that we should be thankful, that Eddie can't run for US president. Though from his recent statement, I'm not sure if back in 1998, he was elected president of Collingwood, or pope.

Yes, I would have thought that the main goal for a Collingwood president, would be premierships for Collingwood. But from reading Eddie's statement, apparently it was world peace.

What's the chance all these spuds who are basically apologists for McGuire will one day realise it's possible to do
some good work in the community without turning it into a virtue signaling exercise, and that it doesn't give you a free
pass to make racist comments. Somewhere between Buckleys and none. I think Pridham will be waiting a long time
for any type of intelligent reflection from this lot.

One of the more amusing responses was by journalist, Richard Hinds; who over the years, has been responsible for some of the better reporting about our Swans. Halfway through Eddie's press conference, he tweeted the question, "Is Eddie resigning as president, or accepting a knighthood?"

The thing that really sticks out to me is that Lumumba's nicknames at Collingwood were "Chimp" and "Slave". FFS... really!
So at Collingwood training in 2014 and before, Buckley is out on the field overseeing training and the likes of Pendlebury,
Cloke, Luke Ball, Nick Maxwell, Sidebottom, Grundy and Adams are running around and Lumumba is being referred to
with these names. And no one puts a stop to it. What is wrong with these people? It's OK, I know the answer.

There are so many things I could say but most has been said or I don't want to appear too bitter and twisted!

My main thought on listening to Eddie carry on in his announcement was 'Now you know how it feels to be hounded out of a job you love. Only Goodesy didn't deserve his hounding. And he didn't take part in yours'.



What I would like to know though, is when will Nathan Buckley speak or at least be questioned by the media? He has been a player and coach throughout this period. Did he see or know nothing?

While Eddie was the one spouting bile in the media, I'm not convinced Buckly was completely innocent behind the scenes through Eddie's reign.

After 23 years he is going, what, 9 months earlier than his/the Board announcement of his departure at the next AGM - hardly hounded out by the outside world.
