All VFL games have been postponed, and as far as I can tell, that includes matches in Qld, between Qld sides. Not entirely sure why, I presume it's because they think it will make the fixturing a bit messy?

It must be very frustrating for these players trying to stake their claim for a senior spot, even save their careers, when games are cancelled. I believe that this is the second Swans reserves game postponed so far?

Yes the Casey game was postponed and was played last week.

The AFL has on Wednesday advised all VFL and VFLW Clubs that this weekend’s scheduled matches will not proceed as planned as a result of the Circuit Breaker Lockdown extension announced by the Victorian State Government today.


Outdoor physical recreation and sport will be closed across Metropolitan Melbourne during the seven-day circuit breaker extension period which continues from 11.59pm AEST Thursday June 3 and affects all VFL and VFLW matches scheduled for this weekend involving Victorian clubs.


The community sport restrictions apply to the VFL and rebel VFLW competitions.


VFL matches will be played in Queensland and New South Wales between non-Victorian teams this weekend as the AFL continues to navigate through a moving fixture to ensure games are played.


The Sydney Swans will host Southport at Tramway Oval, Sydney at 10.05am and Aspley will host Brisbane Lions at 1.05pm at Graham Rd, Aspley on Saturday June 5. Both games will be shown live and free on Kayo Freebies.

I am always terrified to open this thread in case i hear bad news about Sam!! Wonderful that we have the luxury of being able to rest him and not rush him back into senior footy. He's an important piece of our list!

There was a game last weekend against Carlton for the reserves, according to the Carlton website. It had a report by their coach on best players for Carlton. Also mentioned they only played their listed players as VFL players not allowed, and Carlton topped up their side with Swans Academy players, which he complemented. No mention on Swans site as usual. So we have no idea of who played for Swans reserves etc. At least it was a runout for the boys rather than no game at all.

I wonder when and where this scratch match took place. If it was before the main game and at Tramway Oval surely some fans would have witnessed it?
