Perhaps we should ask the parents, how they got along as kiddies? I mean, we are assuming that they'll play nice with each other.

Maybe it’s worth a phone call. The private AFL life of Sydney may apeal to him.

I never forget that last quarter of the final game of the 2014 season where he destroyed Kurt Tippett.
Lol, there is no alleged about it. Was obvious to most he regularly staged for frees.

Anyway, it is irrelevant because as Liz says, he isn't eligible under currently rules.

Like Adam Goodes you mean? Funny that Rance was not booed into retirement.....he staged far more than Goodsey.

Is Sam Weideman worth a look? Will be 25 next season and always had lots of potential as a key forward. Wonderful classic straight approach when kicking for goal.

Both Reid and Franklin are over 30 and won’t go on forever.

High 2nd round pick could do the deal.

I keep mulling over KPP trade targets. What about Harrison Petty? He hasn't done anything much yet but might be about ready to break out. Good size. Country boy from SA. Melbourne have an over-abundance of KPP talent and he may be wanting for opportunity.

Anyone got any thoughts about this or know anything interesting about him?

Weideman is also worth considering but might be harder to get.

Gerard Healy's early call for recruit(s) of the year......The Hick and Allir Allir, who were more or less part of the same deal. Talk about a win-win for both clubs. As much as I love Allir, we seem to have him covered but he is looking impenetrable at Port and going from strength to strength with full confidence. No surprise though that Hickey is in the frame....as we all know, he has been a revelation......a star is belatedly born and is helping transform our team into contenders!

The Hick, Wild Thing, Sweetums - call him what you like but Tom Hickey may well emulate Steve Taubert in 1984.

Shame we mismanaged our salary cap and ruck stocks so poorly over the last few years that couldn't have both

Some say choosing Pyke over Mummy was our biggest ruck blunder.
Some say recruiting sinkers was right up there too.
But our biggest stuff up really was letting nankervis go.

Aside from Hickey we have really made a meal of the ruck. I blame Ludwig.

I have to take responsibility for this one. I didn't think we should have taken him in the draft and I thought we could trade him because Naismith was the better player. It hasn't quite turned out the way I had hoped.

But someone had to take a stand. We had 7 ruckmen on our list at one time (maybe it was 6, but Tom Derickx counts for 2). It was ruckin' madness.

About 5 years ago. There were 7 including Patrick Mills (? The American).

Don't know if I can remember them all. Naismith, Nankervis, Derickx, Pyke...
