The suggestion was made I assume on the basis that Reid would not be fit, not on the basis that he won't be picked if fit. If he is fit, he will be picked because we have little other options (unless you pick Sinclair as a forward/relief ruck I suppose)."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

OK I was going to post a rain update but the link from the ABC doesn't work here. Then I realized it's only for Northern NSW not Brizzy, but they are now predicting 300mm. So If the game was in Coffs Harbour it would be very wet.
"Mr Browne said the coastline should expect to get drenched throughout the weekend, with the bureau forecasting up to 300 millimetres of rain between last night and Sunday evening."Comment

As many of you might remember, I live up in Brisbane and will be going to the game. The weather looks like it's clearing and the Gabba generally drains pretty well. I'm predicting it should be dry enough.
Looks like George is playing, so final team selection will come down to "The" Chad and Wilbur. I'm predicting Wilbur but hoping for Chad.Comment

It does give his first name as Hayden, and Lewis was atrocious against GW$. Maybe the club feels the need is greater for HMC down back than up forward with our "embarrassment of riches" keeping Sinkers as an emergency. Or at the very least that he can't be worse than the Pelican?
Otherwise it should please everyone at RWO: Wicks, Warner and RB all named, and whoever predicated Hayward as 23rd man, he's named as first emergency. Interested that Campbell named as a starter in the mids and JPK and Mills on the interchange. I know it means little but ...Comment

McLean plays hard and tall. He'll compete with anyone for strength. I'm really encouraged to see us try this first up. It's surprising, but makes sense.
I thought the 22nd spot was down to Hewett and Hayward. A couple of weeks ago, I suggested Hewett would miss, I think in part because I couldn't see them dropping Hayward. But on reflection that call didn't sit right, and I think they resolved it correctly.
All up - they nailed the selection first up.Comment
