Crows have 5-6 first choice players missing this week. Big task for Crows inexperienced KPD with Reid, McDonald, who shows ability beyond his age, and now albeit an underdone Buddy to contend with. Add Heeney, Papley, Gulden, Wicks, if we can break even in the midfield it should be fun to watch.

Rowbottom has bone bruising to the front of his knee and will be tested for this week's game.

Mcinerney and Stephens would have to be way off the mark for Longmire to go with an injured RB over them.

I hope that's not another dig at Rowbottom? RB is a key player. If he is not fit then either of those two boys would certainly be able inclusions.

Not a dig. Im saying if he isnt 100% he is not that important to the team that we should risk playing him. & if we do then i have to assume the other two havent shown enough form to convince Longmire to play them over RB. Which would be extremely disappointing.

I would be very cautious about playing Rowbottom this week. He hyperextended his knee to a position often found with ACL tears He should be sure the surrounding muscle is back to normal strength to keep the knee from repeating the hyperextension. Bone bruising can be very painful. Let's hope that RB is honest in reporting the amount of pain he has in the knee. He should let it completely heal. If he's pain free, then he can play.

We have a lot of depth in our midfield. There's hardly any diminishment in the team if we replace Rowbottom with one of any number of players. As soon as he's okay to go, he should be back in the side.

I’m a big Rowbottom fan, however if he is not 100% right then it can’t hurt to rest him up for a week. Particularly if you have Stephens who can come straight in and do a great job.

Rowbottom will then come into the team in round three “come what may”.

I'm wondering who will be our injury sub against the Crows. Hayward had that role last week and didn't get any game time. IMO it would not be good for Hayward to be in that role two weeks in a row because he may lose some match fitness.

Perhaps promote Stephens to that role, and drop Hayward to the twos?

If RB not playing, then Hewitt to the mids and Ling to defence

Not convinced about Ling just yet. Wasn’t Stephens and emergency last week?

I’d be keen to be adding faster players through the midfield than Hewett.

While I kind of agree with you R B is an inside mid so I think Hewett to replace him in that position makes sense. that said if R B is out I would still bring in Stevens

Our inside mids have historically been sllooowww. And it’s been a problem.

RB, The Chad, Blakey, Florent are quick, The Messiah less so.

Last thing I think we should be doing is replacing a quick player with a slow one.

Sloane has not coped with taggers in the recent past, must be a candidate to get a Hewett tag this week.

Adelaide press talking up rookie Jordan Butts to take on Buddy, nullified Hawkins last week.

A lot of talk on here about RB's knee but he doesn't feature in the injury report as a "test" so not sure why people think he will be? He played out the game well.

Has anyone got any information re the practice match for the reserves against the Giants last Sunday. The only snippets I have seen are that Buddy played two quarters and kicked one behind and that the Giants Angwin was reported and is appealing his suspension. Otherwise it seems that it is an information black hole. Nothing on either the Swans or Giants websites.
