    Complaint email sent too.

I suspect the team put the cue in the rack for the final quarter to avoid the brutal noise that followed goals!

What they don't get is the only "engagement" (besides watching the game) that 95% of fans want is to be able to enjoy the company
of the people they went to the game with. That is why people sit together with their family and friends. This will be news to the club
          and the SCG.

I dont mind a bit of music after a goal and during breaks, but its a question of volume. Blaring at you so you cant talk is fine for the nightclub at 1am, but just annoying at the footy.

Here is the answer I got about the music played between goals.

Thanks for your email and your feedback in relation to the sound levels in your seating area on Saturday.

The levels of these speakers are set prior to the crowd arriving and are tested thoroughly. If you notice that they are too loud, please alert the closest Customer Service representative in your seating area and we can then adjust the sound levels in real time from the Stadium Control Room.

We’re playing music after goals to add to the celebration of members and fans in the venue. We’ve worked to select songs which suit each player individually so we can add to the atmosphere – our aim is to turn the SCG into our home fortress and give our players an extra edge when in front of the home crowd.

We’ll continue to collect feedback through the next few weeks and if we can get the speaker volumes to be more spectator friendly, we hope the music can add to the experience for the majority.

Maybe the players will be able to cut back on training now that they will be getting an edge from their carefully "curated" song.

A standard response - must have known the complaints would come.

I wonder if the players said it will give us an edge to have our favourite songs played.

I have already replied saying no from my point of view it does not add to my experience at the ground.

I'm not sure if driving members away, will contribute to the SCG becoming a home fortress.

Anyone who has been to an NBA game in recent years will have seen what a day at the footy will look and sound like in the future.
This "fan engagement" thing is yet another US import and it's not pretty. Watch the membership fees go up every year as we'll be
expected to pay extra for this "enhanced game day experience".

I didn't make it to the SCG on Saturday but my mate did. He confirmed, as discussed here, that there was loud individualised songs played after goals, there were flashing lights and that it was moving to a more US-style match day experience. The unfortunate thing is: he thought it was awesome, high quality and would bring fans in. When I mentioned the uproar on RWO he said we probably aren't their target audience! So, if you care about this issue, I reckon writing in now is the way to go.

I know, it's such a bull@@@@ concept, isn't it. Do they really think that opposition players, will somehow be put off their game, by hearing twenty seconds of Australian Crawl? When actually, if you consider the demographics involved, the reaction is more likely to be, "yeah, whatever, boomer".

Gawd that standard response is goddamn awful. The ‘fan engagement’ crew must all be 16 year-olds.

And in that form letter, there's also an insinuation, that I don't really like. Which is: if you think it's too loud, you're not only overly sensitive to the carefully tested volume levels, but you're also somehow depriving other fans and members of goal celebrations and even hindering the team from gaining a competitive edge.
